We had a wonderful experience here and I couldnât let that go unheralded.
We randomly stopped here for lunch on our last day after several weeks in central Italy, where we live part time. Restaurants in Rome are very hit or miss, and we have been disappointed far more often than we have been happy.
Not this time. Everything at Clavdiaâs (as the sign reads) was perfect.
Everything.
The tuna and onion pizza was among the best pizzaâs Iâve had â clearly they have a wood-fired oven somewhere. The mixed-seafood risotto was perfectly-cooked and delicately flavored. And my grilled bronzino was meticulously cleaned of bone and served flaky and hot. The wine was reasonably-priced and the wine list was relatively strong for a restaurant of this nature. We appreciated being given a chance to see a few bottles at the table (we ordered two mid-ranged bottles) and then being given five minutes to check our phones to make sure the tasting notes matched our desires.
The service was friendly, attentive and elegant â absolutely commendable. 10 out of 10 for sure. We ended up relaxing at our table for nearly three hours enjoying the atmosphere and light conversation.
Thank you, Clavdiaâs for a...
Read moreGreat restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Delicious food offering generous portions. The cheese plate provides an excellent sampling of Italian cheeses. Ricotta and spinach ravioli was cooked to al dente perfection and served hot with a lovely rose' tomato sauce. The shrimp tempura is light and crispy. The focaccia pizza is like a crispy bruschetta piled with chopped fresh tomatoes, torn fresh buffalo mozzarella and fresh basil, while the margarita pizza is simple Italian perfection. Salads are crisp and fresh. But the crowning glory was the salt-crusted sea bass, which is then expertly deboned tableside, easily serving two diners. The service is attentively above and beyond. Desserts are sublime. Wine is available at reasonable prices. Our lunch experience was so extraordinary wonderful that we returned for dinner that same night. Dine here and leave...
Read moreThis was the first time I tried it. During the trip in Italy, I rarely had a meal with proper salt amount, even though I picked the restaurants with 4.5 stars and up. Usually the dishes cooked too salty so I never finished the meal. Today, I decided to choose this one because it is very close to my hotel. I order the mussels as the starter, sea bream cooked in white wine with potatoes as the main course, and a virgin mojito. On my god! The mussels were so fresh and the portion was so huge! The sea bream was so juicy and natural tasted! And the chef was so smart that he/she put the sliced potatoes to cover the fish then cooked in the oven in order to keep the juice of fish. And the potato slices were crispy on the edge and soft in the center.
I donât know why the rating of this restaurant was so low. I want to put my real review here and give the...
