We had arrived in Sirmione, just as restaurants were opening for the day. It was already busy in the area, typically late August I suppose. We opted for an early lunch after quick check on Google. Seated promptly by friendly staff. Order taken in good time, we were 3 (1*14yr old). Wife and daughter chose to share a pizza and salad, no reaction as there may have been in other restaurants. I had Orrechietti Broccoli pasta. ( A dish I've eaten plenty and try and cook too ) The pizza was average, according to wife "good enough". This salad of cherry tomatoes and red onion, which we had at a restaurant prior evening, was not with the same quality of ingredients. Olive oil at table was the least tasty of what we'd had so far in our trip. My pasta had some type of breadstick broken in there for some reason, maybe texture or crunch. Tomatoes, an unusual addition, but ok. Broccoli was soft almost mushy and fatty bacon or speck (usually) anchovies. Average only I'm afraid. I'm no expert so I'm sure that dish has variations. Our bill without wine or soft drinks was €48 euro, before service and cover charge was added of €9 euro ( something to watch out for). The setting is calm, beautifully styled in blue tones that match the nearby water. The space is open and well-ventilated, which adds to the relaxing atmosphere.
Service was excellent – the staff are professional, friendly, and clearly knowledgeable. They handled allergies with care, which is always a good sign of a serious kitchen. The menu is high-quality, well-organized, and focused, suggesting fresh preparation.
Cutlery and glasses were spotless and of high quality. Drinks were original twists on familiar options, and the complimentary bread was refreshed without asking.
I had the fried artichoke and truffle pasta – both absolutely delicious. Plates and presentation matched the vibe perfectly.
Easily the best meal of this holiday, and among the top 3 in my life. Highly...
Read moreI went here with the love of my life--two nights in a row, in fact! Despite being right in the middle of touristy Sirmione, L'Accanto served up flavorful food, and quickly! We had pizza, ravioli, trout, and a fried artichoke appetizer. The pizza, especially the buffala one, was delightful and reasonably priced. The pumpkin ravioli was buttery, sumptuous, sagey, and packed with flavor! The trout was fresh, delightfully crisp, and tasty. The fried artichoke, though scrumptious, was a disappointing morsel for the price, leaving us wanting more. The chardonnay was delicate, mild, and lovely--we ordered 3, though should have done a bottle. When dining outside, there's a nice view of the west side of the lake, which makes for romantic...
