This place is advertised as apartments with pictures showing a kitchen and a sea-view. My confirmation specifically said sea view. We had booked 3 nights here. The place was very difficult to find. The host was not there to greet us or explain anything. Instead, I used up my phone minutes with him giving vague directions. We finally found it. He kept saying the key was in "the black box", We saw a black mailbox on the front of the building, but it was locked and not accessible. Someone let us in, and after going up and down about 12 flights of stairs a couple of times looking for this "black box", my wife finally ripped the first black box from the wall and shook it upside down to get the keys. Then up again all those stairs with all our luggage to a tiny one room plus a bathroom space. The next morning's "included breakfast" was already sitting on a small table and consisted of some pre-packaged croissants, dried out bread with no expiry date shown, and some dry cereal and milk. This was totally pathetic, but just enough to advertise "breakfast included". Our "sea view" was non-existent, but instead overlooked the neighbor's garbage area and the hills behind the town. When I called the host to have him explain, he hung up on me. This absentee host appeared to deliberately misrepresent the property and then was too cowardly to assist or face us. In contrast, we spent 14 nights in southern Italy and every other place we stayed was better than advertised with hosts meeting us each time, but B&B Iris Apartments was deceptive, fraudulent and a total disappointment. ||After failing to contact Booking.com (on hold for 20 minutes till my phone ran out), I found another apartment on-line that turned out to be outstanding. We moved there the next day. I can't believe anyone had anything good to say about B&B Iris, because if people told the truth, I never would have wasted my...
Read moreBudget option for a short stay in Taormina. Located on the top floor (no lift) of an apartment building this B&B offers great view of the seaside below and otherwise modest conditions. Good choice if your plan is to stay for a night or two to see Taormina but not really for a longer stay. The old town is up on the hill - ten minutes of energetic walk. The good side is that it is outside the paid parking zone so you can leave your car outside the building. If there is no room, a public paid parking is 50 metres up the street. Drive slowly - if you pass the building by you may be forced to drive around the whole town to get back...
