B&B Alloggi Serena — Hotel in Venice

Summary upfront: In my opinion, Sergio is a fantastic host, and I would happily stay again anytime!

I stayed at this apartment and were very satisfied. The location is perfect for exploring the city. It's within walking distance (even with luggage) to the main train station (600m). The nearest public boat stop is Riva de Biasio, just 5 minutes away. There are many shops, supermarkets, and restaurants nearby, yet the accommodation is still quiet since it’s at the end of a small side alley. Sergio always responded quickly, and it was no problem at all when I requested to drop off our luggage before check-in. Unfortunately, I forgot some important items when we left, but shortly after, I received a message from Sergio with a photo. He supported me for three days in finding a solution, and I am very grateful for that. The room was clean, with air conditioning and a modern bathroom. There was even a generous breakfast and freshly brewed Italian coffee. In summary, I can only say that out of all my travels, staying at Sergio's was one of the best experiences. We booked this hotel for my family of five. We were shown to a room on the third floor with three beds. This room did have air conditioning. When we asked where the other two beds were, we were shown to a narrow set of steps into the attic. The attic had low ceilings, one small window and no air conditioning. Being it was 90 degrees out, you could imagine how stifling it was up there. When I spoke to the owner about this problem, I was told that space is for the babies or the kids not the adults. I wouldn't put my animals in that space. He misrepresented the space and charged a lot for it. My husband and I ended up sleeping on the floor of the room with the air conditioner as no could have slept in the attic. We tried to get a room in another hotel for the evening but they were all booked. No one should have to sleep on the floor on their vacation. The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is the location was convenient for the train station and the vaporettos stops. I wouldn't recommend this...

What I expect from holiday accommodation is good friendly service, location and cleanliness. The ALLOGGI SERENA scored top marks in all.||||The lady taking care of the place is pleasant, speaks good English and went out of her way to make us welcome. The breakfast prepared was good and in many ways abundant.||||The location is excellent, 10 min from the train station and 20 min to the San Marco square (walking distances). There are an abundance of good restaurants within 5 min of the b&b.
