Literally a disgusting place ! ||My flight got delayed and I ended up arriving very late. It was really hard to get a taxi at around 1am at the airport. We did, but obviously it couldn't drive us to the hotel. We were supposed to get the water bus, but we would have had to wait an hour more, so we decided to walk. We had to walk for 40 minutes with heavy luggage. Coming from Canada, I was jetlaged and very exhausted, and Venise is all bridges with stairs, I couldn't feel my legs or my arms. When we got to the hotel, we were dead and only desperate for a bed. We checked-in, there was no elevator and the guy didn't even offer to carry the luggage to the room upstairs. We got to the room, it smelled funny, we turned on the lights to see that the roof had collapsed in the bathroom. I was going to cry at this point, but I kept my cool and went back to the desk. The guy seemed embarassed, and honestly I didn't have the energy to make a scene, so I only asked for another room. He said it was the last one, and that he could get me another room in another hotel. I was fine with that as long as someone would help us carry the luggage to the other hotel. He made a call, said that it was all sorted we could go to this other hotel were we would stay for our three nights in Venise. I asked again kindly if he could please get someone to help us with the luggage as we were extremely exhausted and we didn't have the energy to carry it for another 15 minutes. He said he can't help us with that, and that finding us a replacement room was the extent of what he could do. I said that it was unfair that because of the room that he, as a hotel manager, failed to notice that it collapsed before the arrival of the customers, we had to go through the stuggle of waking and carrying the luggage on our own at 4 am. He started to get heated, and shouted that it was our fault and we shouldn't have came this late. I begged again, and said that all we needed is someone to help us with our luggage to the other hotel, he said he can't leave his post (it was 4am at this point, he could have closed the door and helped us for 15 minutes and then came back to his post). So we struggled crying with the luggage on our own to the other hotel where all was NOT sorted like he said it was. The guy seemed very confused and he didn't speak english. So I used google translate to explain the situation, he seemed to not have understood fully, but he was nice and saw that we were sleeping on our feet so he gave us a room. We slept for what felt like 5 minutes when the phone started ringing, and the woman at the desk was telling us to leave and go back to the Aclyone of hell. She spoke english so I explained the situation to her and told her that I refused to go back to that hotel. She sounded really nice and undestanding and although she couldn't keep us in that room, she still sent us to another hotel and made sure someone helped us with the luggage. I'm not going to mention these two hotel, cuz they are related to the Aclyone of hell, but they both were really nice and their staff helpful and professional. The Aclyone on the other hand should be out of business, I mean if roofs are collapsing why is it even operating. And the guy, I didn't get his name, but here's picture. He should be fired, he was unnecessarly rude, unprofessional and has probably never heard of customer...

We booked this hotel because it was in a good location and the star rating was decent enough. We weren’t expecting anything fancy, just a place to lay our heads as we were going to be out and about most of the time||However this place was so bad that within 20 minutes of checking in, we were checking out and moving to the hotel next door. ||First things first, this place doesn’t have an elevator. Thankfully we were on the “first” floor but even that was a flight of stairs to get up. An unfortunate older couple checked in after us and was given a higher floor. The couple couldn’t believe they were going to have to haul all their bags up so many flights of stairs. ||The hallway was so dark we had to bend down and squint to make sure the key was going in the lock properly. ||As soon as we opened the door to our room the mold smell hit us. I’m usually not overly sensitive to mold (though my wife is) but the smell was so strong that within 3 minutes both of us started getting headaches from it. ||The bed (which was two twins pushed together) had no cover on it. Only dirty sheets. I found a heavier blanket of sorts in the closet but it looked old and dirty. The mirror on the closet door was cracked and tape placed over it. The upper door of the closet almost fell off as I opened it. ||However after a long, hot trip we needed to wash and try to relax. After my wife took her shower and I was getting ready to go in she said “good luck trying to get in there.” I’m only an average size man but even still the shower was small. The shower door was so flimsy that water was easily escaping onto the floor||By the time I got out of the shower my wife was trying to look up different hotels - but the promised WiFi wasn’t available. Turns out there IS WiFi but you can’t be farther than 3 feet from the reception desk. ||Thankfully the hotel next door (Bella Venezia) had vacancy and allowed us to check the room before we booked with them. ||As we were leaving Alcyone we were told we still had to pay the city tax for the room and that we would not be refunded for our reservation as all sales were final. This means we payed so much more for our stay in Venice but we had no choice. It was either that or stay and get sick with all the mold at Alcyone. ||Hotel Alcyone should be EXTREMELY embarrassed about the state of their hotel, but clearly they’re not. Venice is a tourist city and they can rake in money from unsuspecting tourists whether they decide to stay or not||Please do yourself a favor and book anywhere else - even if you’re the type of person who only needs to book a hotel for an hour - have the decency to book that...

There is no lift and the rooms are spread over 3 floors. If you need help, the reception staff will help you carry your luggage to your room. Good breakfast with sweet and savory buffet. Medium to small rooms in typical Venetian style, a little dated and with poor maintenance especially in the toilet. In the room the Murano glass chandelier was hanging on one side and the wardrobe mirror was broken in 2 places. The bed was comfortable and a normal size. The shower door closed badly and the water leaked onto the floor, the soap or shampoo holder was missing and you had to place it on the floor in the shower, there was little light on the mirror to shave or put on make-up, the toilet seat was missing (the reception was notified they immediately changed our room). I am aware that in Venice there are many reservations and that stopping a room for maintenance is difficult but every now and then it should be rotated. If you stay for a couple of nights, you don't have problems climbing stairs and you're happy then it's fine because normally the rates are quite cheap compared to the rates of 3-star hotels in the historic center of Venice

Fix room 306. Broken chandelier, missing shower door, missing soap holders in shower, broken tile, missing trim around closet. I’ve worked in the hotel industry and there is a difference between basic and a complete disregard for maintenance. All I need is a bed, shower, and well maintained facilities. When there is so much damage to a room that it detracts from my experience it makes me question everything else in the operation. If they are okay with their guests staying in a clearly damaged room what is going on that we don’t see? Staff were friendly enough but that is the only nice thing I can say. Spend your money elsewhere, plenty of other affordable options with better maintenance and cleanliness.
