The least luxurious “luxury” hotel I’ve ever seen. They didn’t even have an iron in the room. The pillows were rock hard, sheets were uncomfortable and they removed the comforter from our room after the first day we were there. Housekeeping removed our towels and did not replenish them nor did they give us new cups or clean the existing ones. There was a hot plate in the kitchen, but no cooking utensils, pots or pans or plates, no wine opener. They did not have coffee maker/espresso machine in the room. They offered us a “free” tour of Murano, which ended up being a high pressure sales room to purchase the Murano glass where we saw several elderly people being taken advantage of for thousands of dollars. They offered us a water taxi over, but we were responsible for finding our own way back and discovered that after we had already been dropped off. This is a massive tourist trap, do...
Read moreI loved absolutely everything about this hotel. The check-in was quick and easy, the staff extremely professional and friendly, the location is nothing short of perfect, the room was stunningly beautiful, clean and comfortable and the view...!!!
It would be nice to have a kettle in the room to have a hot drink in the morning or the evening, but that's not a big deal.
The breakfast (which is actually served in a sister hotel a couple of minutes away - perhaps because I visited in winter?) offers a great and tasty selection.
I guess that in summer when Venice is busier, if there are people hanging out on San Marco square late at night it might get a tad noisy but unless you're a very light sleeper I can't imagine it being a big problem.
Overall, this is a gem and there is no doubt whatsoever that the next time I'm Venice I will stay...
Read moreThe location was great. Staff was very accommodating, but that was about the end of the luxury. Most uncomfortable beds and pillows I've ever encountered. We had a family suite and while it had a hotplate for us, there was nothing else in the room. No coffee maker, pots/pans, clothes iron/board, only 2 glass cups that weren't cleaned by room service. I don't remember what we paid to have breakfast included, but definitely not worth it.
Also, the "complimentary" Murano glass tour... The boat is nice and the glass blowing example is cool. But after that, don't buy ANYTHING in the gift shop. It's an absolute scam. Go in to the rest of the island and you'll find the same exact things for 1/10th...
