My husband and I stayed two nights in the ground floor bedroom of Ca Da Nonna. (We found this property on Booking.com) It is a good sized room, with a private bathroom, and everything is extraordinarily clean and tidy. Also, it is very well-appointed, with a mini fridge, kettle and tea and coffee, extra blankets, rack for hanging clothes, etc. The check-out process was a breeze; we just left our keys and departed, which was very convenient. Anna is a gracious host; she met us at the train station and walked us to the apartment, pointing out landmarks along the way so that we wouldn't get lost later. There are lots of steps, but it is a charming walk from the apartment to the train station or piazza. The only downside to this bedroom was that it was noisy. Because it is located immediately across from the front door of the house, we heard everytime anyone went in or out. And twice, when it was dark, someone confused our bedroom door for the front door and tried to open it! Thankfully, we kept our door locked and avoided any embarrassing intrusions! We laughed about it, but it is something to keep in mind if you are looking for very private accommodations. We paid €95 per night, which seemed like a good deal compared to other options. This home was a perfect spot for us to enjoy Vernazza and the Cinque Terre and we would stay here again in...
Read moreThe room was spacious enough and we were met at the station by the owner. The whole town seems to be a cash only environment, which I had read before going. No wifi. In our 3 night stay, we never saw the owner after paying her and our room was not serviced AT ALL: bin not emptied, dirty cups left and no fresh towels. I emailed to request a second key because the key controls the electricity - if one of us went out, either the one left behind had no lights, or the one who went out couldn't get back into the building or the room. This request was completely ignored. Good location (ie not too far from Main Street) but I expect the room to be serviced during a...
Read moreI did my research and chose this place based on the location advertised on booking.com off the main road and away from the train station. When we arrived we were told we were booked into a different site on the main drag across from a bar and next to the train station. Needless to say, very loud even with windows closed. Fan/AC did not work. Told I was sent an email with this info but the email was sent after we left for Italy and only noted address, not the change in sites. Never cleaned the room while we were there. Don't trust...
