Our family of 4, 2 adults and 2 teens, stayed here for 5 nights in April. We were greeted by Frederico at the top of the village after he helped us last minute to secure parking. He carried my bag through the streets while pointing out places to eat and drink in Vernazza. He showed us our room and the new roof top terrace with stunningly beautiful views of the village and sea. Our room was clean and supplied with coffee/tea/crackers/water. We had fresh towels daily/as needed and our beds were made and things were straightened for us. Our boys fit well on the couch made bunk bed. I was a little worried that my 14 yr old would be too big but the beds are each twin size stacked in bunk bed fashion. The building is relatively newly renovated so it was in perfect shape. The street below is quiet at night too. There is AC but we didn’t need it, we opened the windows while we were in the room for fresh sea air. The room has a small safe, a small refrigerator, an electric, and a Nespresso machine. We had a lovely breakfast included which was located in a nearby restaurant at the harbor. And lastly, we found the village of Vernazza to be our favorite in Cinque Terre, it’s breathtaking, and in the mornings and evenings when the crowds leave, it’s perfection. Thank you Frederico...
Read moreWe stayed in The Sapphire Suite for 3 nights in October and absolutely loved it! Everything was just about perfect. The location is about 2 minutes from the main street and a short walk from the train station, the harbour and the wonderful restaurants and gelato shops. Of course there are steps, as is expected in Vernazza, but there is a porter service available at the train station. The room is new, clean, modern and simply beautiful. There are 2 views from The Sapphire Suite. One room overlooks the village, but it was the view from the other room that took our breath away - the cliff on the left side, a rocky shore, like a secret beach, and the endless horizon. It was stunning! Woke up the symphony of waves crashing against the rocks. Such bliss! Federico gave us a very good introduction to Vernazza, good recommendations, and even came at 6.50am to help us with our luggages on the day of departure (too early for the porter service). Thank...
Read moreThe place is nice but there are a few downsides. The welcome was very nice and well done. The apartment (Emerald) is quite modern and has a nice little view of the coast. There's also a shared rooftop terrace with amazing views all around. The apartment has all you need with complimentary drinks. The bathroom has been redone not too long ago and is functional. Controlling the hot water in the shower was not easy and the bathroom is generally too dark. The bed was quite uncomfortable and triggered back and neck pain after the first night, before doing the hikes. It was not better on the second night after 4 solid hours of hiking. The green lights next to each side of the bed is also annoying. The noise insulation is poor and we can hear the people upstairs walking (until late) and even peeing.
Location is great. Vernazza, in my opinion, is nicer than Corniglia...
