Residenza Borsari — Hotel in Verona

Check in time limitations wasn't initially expressed. My husband and I arrived around 8pm thinking a front desk staff would be available to assist - wasn't prepped for this to be a fully airbnb experience as they somehow recieved a "5 star hotel" noting on Google which is totally falsified.. Michela was nice but reached out to us last min via Whatsapp to ask what time we will be arriving and then expressed on the restrictions, which made us nervous about the whole experience. They left our keycard tape outside the door for anyone to access and was a huge security risk.

Once we arrived, we discovered our keycard did not work to access the 2nd door in the courtyard. Michela was responsive on this and noted the door should have been left open, but obviously, someone in the building shut this as it's a full residential unit.

The amenities are also not truthful. There isn't any place on these floors that serve breakfast, no access to any true service, and the outlets didnt work to charge our phones. It's basically an apartment building - which is fine but it is not advertised correctly

The communication, location and size of the room was okay but overall we were a bit disappointed with what we paid for this stay. I am positive the money you pay could go to some place better if you want a relaxed...

While this is billed as a hotel it is more like staying in a stunning luxury home straight out of Architectural Digest. We were in a suite on the first floor with a separate entrance and a group of three private rooms. The room (103) was fabulous - every room is decorated a little differently and ours had amazing wallpaper with venetian lanterns on it in a beautiful muted beige. The reception and breakfast room are on the 2nd floor and breakfast was amazing with plenty of choices. The manager, Michela, was friendly, shared a lot of background about Vernon, and gave us impeccable instructions for our late arrival. Also when Michela learned I was learning Italian she immediately pivoted into speaking Italian just for me. I highly recommend Residenza Borsari and will definitely stay here again the next time...

Michela, who oversaw day-to-day operations, is a gem - warm, attentive to making your stay enjoyable, knowledgeable about Verona. The location is superb. Rooms are immaculate, furnished tastefully, as is the elegant breakfast room. As some reviews noted, rooms may need maintenance work to provide a 5 star experience. Wifi was either unreliable or totally out on my floor for 2 days, after which I requested and was given another room. This new room had a shower door that didn't close entirely.
