Le Vecete — Restaurant in Verona

I am sad. Because of the reviews i think it was good and so i take some money (i am a student so i have to think about this) to go eating and have one good restaurant in my holidays. I expect higher prices but i also expect higher quality.

Food: taglietelle truffels. Pasta itself was good. The only thing. Truffels/sauce was absoloutly tasteless. I need salt and pepper additionaly. Also just a small portion for 32 euros. But this is okay. We are in the city center and it s truffel. 4 euros extra for bred with cheap olive oil and aceto di modeno that i didn t order. This is not okay.

Service: beer in a wine glass..Serious? They first women want to give me vegetarian options who are not vegetarian. First reaction after i said vegetarian: „we have salad“. Bad english. Then she leaved for over 5 minutes. another service girl noticed and came around. She was friendly and ask in the kitchen for some questions. I only can choice between taglietelle truffel and pasta with tomato sauce. All of them seems to be non professionell service people. My neighbour table ask for differences between two dishes. Answer: this is good and this is good... Another neighbour table ask for open wine bottles . They can not say anything to the brand,the taste and so on. It s just: this is superior,this is high class.

Ambiente: good.

All in all it seems to be a typical in-town tourist restaurant with high prices and non professionell service. Vegan/vegetarians: this is not a...

After searching the streets to find a good place to dine on my own, I stumbled upon Le Vecete. The staff treated me wonderfully and my meal from start to finish was excellent! Can't forget the wine! I had two glasses of some exceptional Amarone! For food, I started with a mixed salad, was brought the most delicious basket of bread, then moved on to the meat tortellini which was sort of like a soup. The broth was perfectly seasoned and salted and the tortellini was al dente and delicious. I then moved on to a filet mignon with a creamy peppercorn sauce cooked medium rare. No room for dessert! If I had to make any suggestions, I would ask to have half portions of some of the 1st courses as in the tortellini. It's a lot of food for just one person. My total bill was 99 euro but I think that is totally worth the cost for a 3 course meal with bread and 2 glasses of fabulous wine. This would have cost me at least...

Vergognoso, sono andato con mio figlio Disabile , Verona, città rinomata nella storia italiana, è anche entrata a far parte del “patrimonio dell’Umanità” per le sue grandi opere artistiche e culturali. È ben nota nel mondo grazie all’opera di Shakespeare “Romeo e Giulietta”, ma anche per la sua storia antica sin dal III secolo a.C.

Chi ha la fortuna di visitarla può ammirare il Duomo, la basilica di San Zeno, la chiesa di San fermo Maggiore, le Arche Scaligere, Castelvecchio, Castel San Pietro, l’arco dei Gavi, il Palazzo Barbieri e la ben nota Arena, sede di numerosissime manifestazioni a carattere nazionale ed internazionale.

È ben nota anche per le sue specialità enogastronomiche, che si possono gustare in tantissimi ristoranti più o meno “stellati”. Uno fra questi è l’Osteria Le Vecete, che ho avuto il dispiacere di visitare con la mia famiglia!

Si propone al pubblico con una frase altisonante: “è il punto di ritrovo per politici, letterati, artisti e sportivi”. Indubbiamente lo è, ma non è il punto di ritrovo per una famiglia come la mia, composta da due persone adulte e due bambini. Il motivo è molto semplice: mi è stato comunicato che mio figlio Francesco non era gradito, perché stava “facendo chiasso”…

È chiaro che l’Osteria potrà certamente annoverare politici, letterati, artisti e sportivi, ma nel 2023 dovrebbe anche capire che esistono bambini che hanno delle necessità particolari, e che il loro “chiasso” non è altro che una forma di comunicazione, forse diversa da quelle più comunemente utilizzate, ma non certo da sottovalutare o ignorare.

La Treccani mi suggerisce alcuni significati. “Rumore alto di voci fatto per divertimento”: sì, è possibilissimo che mio figlio abbia alzato la voce per divertimento. “strepito, fracasso, schiamazzo”: anche questo è possibile… basta guardare il contesto familiare e provare a capire che non siamo una famiglia “casinista”, ma semplicemente una famiglia con un’esigenza particolare. “Alterco, lite, scenata violenta”: chiaramente Francesco non litigava con nessuno!

Tralasciando altri significati che esulano dal concetto di “rumoroso”, suggerisco ai gestori del locale un’attenzione in più da riservare alle famiglie che hanno esigenze particolari, perché sarà sì vero che politici, letterati, artisti e sportivi potranno essere un valore aggiunto (e non ho capito il perché) per il locale, ma è altrettanto vero che è molto più efficace una frase “adatto per le famiglie e per i bambini” con un riscontro concreto da parte dei visitatori.
