Lovely place to stay in the Hakuba area especially if you want to be central to a lot of things.
Kizuna was minutes away from the Tokyu hotel which has all the bus stops that leads to other resorts, minutes away from Rhythm (snowboard/ski rental shop), and minutes away from Happo One ski resort. It was also a walkable distance from restaurants and family mart.
The hosts here were super friendly and helpful! Justin and Kaoli made our group feel right at home! They both spoke English well so that made it a lot easier for all of us. The lodge also has a nice kitchen area that they recently upgraded so cooking in there was great! They also had a small onsen and plenty of seating area to lounge and hangout.
The rooms were comfortable and spacious for Japan. The bathrooms were very small so taller people will have a harder time. They also provide a shuttle service to take you to various local places to get groceries, go to local onsens, and etc. I really appreciated that they had a dry room to store snowboards and boots so I didn't have to keep my wet clothes. Rhythm also picks up rentals directly from Kizuna so that was an added bonus that I didn't have to carry my board back to the shop.
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely come back here! The only downside is that there are stink bugs all over the area so you just have to...
Read moreWe really enjoyed our stay at Kizuna Lodge during the green season this week. We decided not to rent a car and found that most places are within a reasonable walking distance, otherwise the staff are happy to drive you to local areas if they are available. We highly recommend Kizuna for its outdoor kitchen and BBQ area if you would like to cook your own food. The local restaurants and bars were incredible - highly recommend visiting Lucky Star Cafe in town, the owner and her daughter are very friendly and incredibly helpful with recommending places to see in the area that are not very well known to tourists and the food / drinks were delicious. The staff at Kizuna are also very hospitable and friendly - special shout out to the fantastic service staff Bri, Yuka, and Rio for making our stay especially relaxing, and James for cooking delicious breakfasts for us each morning. The staff were also fantastic at recommending places to see in Hakuba - we particularly loved swimming in the Matsu River and visiting Aoki Lake. Thank you to Bri and the rest of the staff at Kizuna for a wonderful stay, we highly recommend this place if you are staying in the...
Read moreJust left here the other day. Def recommend during rainy season as it was so quiet and peaceful. Half the town is under construction or closed, but was perfect as Happo onsen is just a 10 min walk. We rented the BBQ outside for a couple hours, which was really enjoyable. The owner/front desk and every worker we occasionally bumped into were beyond accommodating in every aspect. If you are looking for some peace and quiet to read a book, have a simple, tasty cooked breakfast and escape from the hustle n bustle, this is it. Only complaint was the mattresses, not comfy at all. And the windows, it would be nice if they were screened so could have em open in the room without the worry of bugs. It was really enjoyable being able to lounge around in the lobby watching anime too 😅 Cute lil escape from a busy world. We had a fantastic memorable time here and will cherish this...
