京都禮禪道 — Hotel in Kyoto

I was lucky to book here fairly last minute when my plans had changed. I found the location to be extremely convenient yet on a quiet street. The building and one almost across it look similar and I really liked this style of architecture. It is a rather old building, but i also live in a similar one so this made it feel more like home to me. Nonetheless, the apartment was very clean and nicely decorated. I have to say, the pillows, mattress and bedding were all incredible and I've slept in all kinds of beds and futons in Japan. The bedding especially is something I still think about as the texture was sooo soft! The only small issue was that the hot water was a bit moody but this mostly lasted one night only so it was manageable. One of the hosts came by quickly to sort it and the host Henry who checked me in was also very friendly and attentive. I really appreciated being able to bring my luggage early and leave it a bit longer after check out - this is a huge relief when you're moving around a lot! We had an amazing stay here with our 1 year old. The apartment had everything we needed and was excellent value. It's small but cute. Kitchen is simple but fairly well-equipped - we found it very useful. Bathroom/shower was good - warm water, good pressure. Beds comfy. Warm and cosy room. Washing machine on the balcony also came in super useful. The location is great, very close to the centre and some very beautiful temples, yet still on a quiet street in a picturesque area. There is a 7-eleven 2 mins away and even a little shrine at the end of the road.

All in all, this place totally exceeded our expectations. Oh and Henry was a lovely and caring host too!...

A nice apartment in very good area of Kyoto, easy access to go around by walking. Less than 20 mins to Gion and just 10 mins to the shopping area. Phoebe, the host is a nice lady. She is very helpful and kindness. She even lent us some cash to take bus while we didnt prepare any cash. She also helped to book taxi on our last day and helped to carry our luggages.
