I'll try to keep this short. TL;DR: Stayed at Loft E, Room 505, three people. I think I was as memorable to the staff as they were to me lol. I stayed five nights.
Rooms: Great. Modern furnishings, Dyson hairdryer, expansive for chilling out and talking with friends or family, USB outlets for phones beside the queen-sized mattresses.
Service: Awesome. Staff are young, energetic, and as hipster as the 20 items they loan out. Everyone speaks good English (and I don't mean by Japanese standards. They really speak very well). I must have sent a million emails enquiring about the hotel, sending luggage from Osaka via courier, and getting their help in booking some obscure restaurants that are impossible to reserve outside of Japan because the only way is via a Japanese local phone number, and they don't speak English.
... They even printed out a Google Maps taxi route with the addresses of both the hotel and restaurant written out. I was not expecting that. That's good service.
Location: They're about 15min from Kyoto Station depending on your walking speed, right opposite Higashi Honganji temple, near a tourist-friendly hospital (had to visit because my mother tripped and fell), and is fairly near the downtown tourist hotspots like Nishiki Market, Pontocho (food) and Gion. This matters more than you'd think because Murphy's Law happens.
Personally, I had to borrow a wheelchair and return it daily for my mum from Kyoto Station, and I speed-walked the 500m or so. A hotel further away would mean I needed more time and money (taxi, travelling) for this necessity.
Anyway, I absolutely can't recommend the place enough. If I have the chance in the future, I'd definitely give their sister hotels/hostels a try. If you don't need the amenities of a typical hotel, you want modern creature comforts, you want to cook, try out drip coffee (free beans the first time!), listen to records, chill out in a large living room and feel like you're at home, cook in a proper kitchen because you need to/have to, you want a proper dining table... This is the...
Read moreI stayed at 20pcs hotel Kyoto in the Loft B type room and had an amazing experience from start to finish. The room offers a breathtaking view overlooking Higashi Hongan-ji Temple, which adds a serene, cultural touch to the stay. At night, the view of the Kyoto Tower lit up was simply spectacular — easily one of the best night views in the city.
The room itself is spacious and thoughtfully designed, much more like a stylish studio apartment than a typical hotel room. It features a large, comfortable sofa in the living area, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the view. The toilet and shower are separated, which is a great convenience for privacy and usability. The wide living room includes a long dining table and a fully functional kitchenette, allowing for easy meal prep and dining in. Sitting by the window, watching the quiet street and temple, was one of my favorite moments.
The hotel is located in a peaceful neighborhood with only a Family Mart directly behind it, ensuring a quiet environment for restful sleep. Yet, it’s still conveniently within walking distance to Kyoto Tower and Yodobashi Camera, making it easy to explore the city and shop.
One standout feature is the keyless entry system — you don’t get a traditional key card but use a room number and PIN code to access your room, which eliminates the hassle of losing cards and adds an extra layer of security.
The hotel provides a laundry room on the first floor, perfect for longer stays. They also have a rental service for household appliances, so you can borrow pots, pans, and other kitchen tools if you want to cook your own meals, making it ideal for guests who prefer home-cooked food.
Another thoughtful amenity is the inclusion of a Dyson hair dryer in the room, which is a luxurious touch that adds to the overall comfort.
Overall, 20pcs hotel Kyoto is a hidden gem—peaceful, clean, and equipped with all the amenities you need for a comfortable and convenient stay. The combination of traditional views, modern comforts, and smart design makes it a top choice for anyone...
