Sizuya - Shichijo — Restaurant in Kyoto

The breakfasts here are lovely. The tomato stew is particularly nice. I have really enjoyed coming to eat here a few times during our stay. However, service is very poor. I wanted an extra piece of toast for my 14month old to eat - the waitress just refused and made no effort to accommodate in any way, all that is available are these set meals, which is a shame. I am sure it is not her fault, and the system she is working in makes it this way, but it is very robotic and apathetic to various circumstances. Maybe a kids meal option might be worth including...

Great breakfast place that I highly recommend. The inside is a little outdated but that's fine since it's more of a traditional Japanese style building. The food is the best part of this place, the toast must be homemade bread because it is so soft and delicious. The eggs and ham are so tasty. The best part of this place is the close proximity to Umekoji hotels and the Umekoji Kyotonishi train station and the fact it only costs ¥2,000 yen for two breakfasts and tea with both.
