Truly a wonderful experience because of the wonderful people. Service is absolutely top notch and very thoughtful. Rooms are spacious and amenities are very high quality. The lounge area has a variety of alcoholic drinks that are self serve and they also have complimentary drinks in the mini bar. Staff spoke English very well and honestly the best service I’ve received in Japan. Breakfast is served in the garden, which requires a taxi provided by the hotel but it’s very easy. The food was good but I wish food came out slower. I had a soup, appetizer and entree simultaneously on my table, I felt slightly rushed. But service trumps all, so I still give 5/5. Will be back again.

Our room was spacious, charming, and even had a tiny tea room! Service was warm and gracious. The lounge has complimentary drinks. The most unique part of this hotel was the breakfast at the Heian Shrine, which includes taxi fare to and from the hotel plus the entry fee to the gardens afterwards. Because you're so early at the shrine, you really have a feeling of being alone in the gardens. Breakfast was good but nothing special; the view and the privacy are what make the experience unbeatable. We loved our stay here, and look forward to the next time!
