Oyado Shinmachigojo, Kyoto — Hotel in Kyoto

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and it was amazing - easily our favourite stay during our Japan trip.||Before we arrived, the staff messaged us to let us know our room was ready early, which was a wonderful surprise after reaching Kyoto ahead of schedule. Check-in was quick, and the reception staff were friendly, welcoming and spoke excellent English. ||The room itself was absolutely perfect. It was spacious (especially compared to our previous stay in Tokyo), spotless and very comfortable. The room included a well-stocked kitchen, laundry area, plenty of storage, a table and chairs and a great bathroom. The air conditioning was fantastic and much appreciated in the August heat. ||One thing to note is that the hotel does not provide daily cleaning but they make it very easy to pick up fresh towels, toiletries, and cleaning supplies from reception whenever needed. There is only one lift though with a weight limit, which meant moving our luggage took a little longer and check-out was slower when multiple guests wanted to use it. ||The location was another highlight. Nestled in a quiet local neighbourhood, it felt peaceful and authentic, with friendly locals and excellent restaurants nearby that are welcoming to tourists. Several temples and a train station are within walking distance and convenience stores are also close at hand. ||We were genuinely sad to leave this hotel - it had everything we needed and more. We would highly recommend it to anyone...

Everything in the apartment is good. Big bathroom, bed and all amenities , kitchen set all we could need is there. The apt is in the strategic location, very near tokyo station and by taxi only about 700yen. Very recommended.

The only disappoint things is check in location is 700 meters from apartment, so you have to walk back and forth to take the keys and register, this could be troublesome if u travel with large suitcases. But we had a pleasant time once we are in apt. Thanks...

We have had a good stay. The location is very good as you can early walk around and visit a lot of things (and connection to the Kyoto main station is good if you plan to travel to Uji, Nara...). Rooms are not very big (our was for 4 people), but we'll equipped. Onsen is right close...
