We almost didn’t enter because of the (unappealing) plywood exterior makes it look like it is still under construction! However, many of our other options were not open during the late afternoon, so we took a gamble. I was interested in trying local beers (they also serve a range of sakes) and the Woodmill Hazy IPA that I eventually selected was very fruity with a delicious range of flavours. However, the young waiter was clueless when I told him what kind of beer I liked, and I had to go to the counter to speak to the owner to get some in help making the right choice. We ordered a pizza and some karaage, and both were quite tasty, and the music was quite nice. I had been hoping that they would serve flights of beer, so I could tasty small quantities of different beers, but that was unfortunately not the case. Also, while the beer was good, at ¥700-800 for just over half a pint, I felt it was quite pricey. The pints are more reasonably priced, but I don’t like to order a whole pint of a beer I might not like. And finally, I don’t know how often it happens, but a number of the food items were listed as...

I will preface this review by saying that we were here during an event for the Kyoto brewery. Therefore, my experience may not be representative of what customers usually receive at the restaurant. To begin, the karaage we ordered was served in a disposable cup, and was quite cold and dry. It looked quite different to what I had seen in photos from other reviews. The beers were okay. The gyozas I ordered were okay, however they took a long time to be prepared, especially considering the restaurant was very quiet. My friend’s order of gyoza was forgotten by staff, meaning we had to wait even longer. With the above being considered, I could not recommend...

The place seat about 20 max. Not as many beers on tap as I expected. One was already out and one finished while we were there. However, the beers that were on tap were great. All Japanese Craft beer in draft. 7 possible. The Bottled beer selection was great as well offering about 25 total. Besides the all quality beer experience the food was amazing. There is one person cooking and our group of 7 loved everything that came out of the kitchen . The favorite was the scallops and lamb chops. All great prices on food as well as the beer. Facebook says it's "reservation only", but if you can find it, and there is room they...

Great bar, really cozy. The beer selection is great, maybe 5 or 6 draft beers at any one time but all really high quality. Bar food is amazing, all cooked in front of you. We had the mixed appetizers for 2 people (picture attached) with excellent sashimi. It's possible to park your bikes, just pop in and they will open the shutters to the side for your to stow your bike during your visit. Be aware though that this place is tiny, so if it's full when you arrive you might need to stand while you wait for a table. Also, notices where up for an upcoming refurbishment from 7th January 2019 for 2 months which means it will be closed.

Fantastic little bar, craft-ale-meets-izakaya, a must visit for any (craft) beer fanatic visiting Kyoto. Excellent, friendly service and superb bar snacks. We had a platter of smoked meats and cheeses that would put a lot of UK bars to shame. Great range of locally brewed Japanese beers too. A perfect place to try a sake too, the staff give a generous overpour into a little lacquer box under your glass. When you've finished the glass your pour the rest into your glass and drink it up!! 😋 A little hard to find, but the 'treasure hunt' was definitely worth it.
