Replying to their response: the pictures speak itself to your POOR HYGIENE.
On the booking, it did not specify you don’t change sheets. Furthermore, we specifically asked for sheet changes to multiple staff multiple times, and each time they approved that it would have been done. First time hearing you don’t offer this here. Which hotel doesn’t change sheets for a week’s stay?!!
My complaint of your POOR HYGIENE is NOT about not touching personal belongings —it’s about floors not being cleaned, finding unknown hair on the bed, floors having liquid stains from prior guests, hotel slippers being left in the middle of the room awkwardly, hotel pajamas being thrown on the bed. If you don’t touch it, why is it taken from the floor and thrown on the bed? Plus, it’s a hotel belonging, not a personal one.
In which hotel you need to take your own trash out to the front of your room??!! Why is it a hotel then? Plus, that was NEVER communicated to us —neither when we were checking in, during our short cut stay, during our awkward talk to your staff and the manager who would just be in silent, nor during our check out. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!!
The pictures speak itself. Poorest customer service, poorest cleanness we’ve encountered in the whole world. You should not consider yourself as a hotel if you are unable to offer the most basic amenities which are stated on the booking. Shame on you and these positive reviews you ask people to leave for a free hotel scarf.
TERRIBLE “Cleaning” and Customer Service
This hotel doesn’t handle its own cleaning—they outsource it to a third party and have absolutely no idea who enters your room!!
Beds were dirty with hair and stains that weren’t ours, personal items (like pyjamas) were thrown on the bed taken from the floor (not even folded or replaced), and cleaning wasn’t done despite multiple requests over two days even though it was “the” cleaning day. It took the receptionist an hour to replace one bedsheet at 7 PM to fix the problem, only to face it again the next day.
The manager (as of Dec 9) kept us waiting in the lobby for 2+ hours without a solution, did not answer in any way (kept fully silent) except for laughing over the phone, and offered no solution. AVOID this hotel if you value safety, hygiene, cleanliness and...
Read moreWe stayed here for six nights. The area is very accessible to restaurants and shops. A good 10-15mins walk and you can be in Gion District. The reception was lovely. The breakfast, tea/coffee areas were nice and tea/coffees were offered for free and when you want it. Which we thought was lovely.|The room provided was spacious, with a lovely powerful shower. The toilet is separate and typical of Japan - electronic toilet.|The tea making facility and other basic amenities were in the room.|The bed was comfortable and definitely had good night’s sleep.||The massive downfall for us, was the room cleaning. There was a clause in their book in the room which states ‘guests staying over 4 nights will be provided room cleaning every 3 nights’. We asked for a room clean the day after we arrived, which they did. However, not very good as there was rubbish left on the table. Which we just didn’t mind. Then of course we expected that 3 nights later, the room will be cleaned. Never happened! When we asked reception, we were instructed that it will be an extra charge. Maybe some language barrier issue. However, no further cleaning happened during the rest of the 5 nights. I even had to ask towels on our 5th night as the towels were getting dirty.|The room clearly was getting dirty and it’s not something we expect in a hotel like this. That we had to request a room clean and a policy that states some ridiculous odd cleaning schedule.|I could not recommend it for the issues mentioned. However, the staff were very kind and accommodating. There was an instance where I had to book a nail polish/manicure and asked reception to book it for me - she was brilliant and managed to to find me a nail bar, best thing about that was she never showed or made us feel that we are...
Read moreOur stay at the Legasta Kyoto Sanjo Hotel was perfect, thanks to its five-star staff. Although they speak very little English, they ensured every aspect of our visit was flawless. From the reception to the coffee lounge, everything was impeccable. The rooms were exceptionally clean, with housekeeping every other day—yet fresh towels were always available on request. We found the mattresses and pillows comfortable, and the modern amenities added a touch of elegance. The hotel’s location couldn’t be better, with bus and metro stops just a short walk away, making it easy to explore the city.
Initially, we were given a room in the basement. Unfortunately, it had a very strong musty odor, likely due to the persistent humidity there, which could exacerbate respiratory issues like asthma. After mentioning it, the staff graciously moved us to a ground-floor room, which solved the problem entirely. We appreciated their quick and accommodating response. This is something for travelers with respiratory sensitivities to consider, as high humidity can indeed worsen asthma and other breathing conditions by promoting the growth of mold and reducing air quality .
Despite this, the hotel offers excellent value for money, and I would highly recommend it to anyone...
