IKIDANE Residential Hotel SHIMANOUCHI — Hotel in Osaka

The check-in process was a bit of a hassle and in my opinion, can actually be done earlier in advance. We need to upload our details and information in the link given which was sent out at the start of checkin time ie 4pm. There was no receptionist office/table at the residential place. The code and checkin information given via email/message through our booking system.

Overall the place was okay. Comfortable enough for us. There’s washing machine,iron and ironing board, microwave and some cutleries and cooking utensils provided. Manual with regards to the place was also provided if needed. No need to bring rubbish down just sort it out as per instruction.

There’s familymart and Lawson available nearby. Dotonburi is about 15mins walk. About 1km or less for the nearest train station. There are two if I’m not mistaken which we went as our starting points of journey via train. If you’re coming from Kansai Airport (KIX), you can opt to take the limousine bus and stop at Dotonburi Plaza (depends on time you arrived) Very convenient. We stayed as part of a longer trip, family of 4. Check in process was not great, a little bit confusing, no email 24 hours before our stay like we were told was meant to happen. I think that some of the pre check in process (details of who is staying) could have been completed before the day. Maybe advise a locker nearby where we could store our luggage as check isn't until 3pm. The building isn't secure either, the stairwell up to the apartments is always unlocked, same as the elevator, there is CCTV in the elevator. I personally didn't feel safe at the room. The neighbourhood was quiet enough, there are nightclubs on the main road nearby so there are people walking around all hours. Stayed one night out of 5 and gave up. I had to cancel. Since it is unmanned there was noise upstairs till 3am and no one to complain too. Mold in the bathrooms and beds were all uneven. Stained sheets! Gross… uneven beds, You could feel the springs in one and in another you sank into the middle. Might be okay for some young adults but not good for families with kids.
