Soju Hanzan — Restaurant in Osaka

Even though i read the previous negative reviews, i decided to give this joint a try.

It surely looks good from the outside, and it's all good at first, while sitting and placing your orders. Drinks are reasonably priced, at least tap beer and Korean soju. Food on the other hand, seems to be a little overpriced, and it's just average: I couldn't taste any authentic Korean dish here... The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed overall.

But the first impression it's definitely misleading. The management, which seem to be mainly Japanese, is pretty dodgy indeed. What they do is basically rob male customers, either locals or foreigners. Obviously, no wonder why the large majority of the customers here are usually females only (and few couples). They're clearly trying to keep guys away: males are apparently not welcome here.

The bad news come only at the end, when they present you the bill: clearly inflated, also items that you haven't ordered nor consumed at all are added in it! In our case, they actually presented us twice with bills of two other different tables, and after our complaints, they were not able to print out our very bill! They just handwrote it on the back of another receipt... pretty dodgy and honestly unacceptable! In addition to the wrong and inflated check, they also applied a cover charge of 500円 for each of us: a hidden extra cost which was not mentioned anytime before, nor written or displayed anywhere. I emphasize that they do not offer you anything for those 500円 they require you to pay extra... not even a little 'service': this is exactly the opposite of the authentic Korean hospitality customs and tradition! I suspect that the cover charge, and the actual amount of it, as it's not displayed anywhere, is totally at the managers'/staff's discretion: it may vary case by case... (it seems that girls usually pay less, around 200円).

Despite their facade and first impression, overall this place is a real bummer! It's totally a shame they treat their guests that way!

Cannot believe these guys run in such a deceptive way a business in the heart of...

Dodgy place, looks good from the outside but it was a total disappointment. Seems great at first, especially with 3 litre beer on serve for a reasonable price, of which we ordered one. The food was decent but nothing incredible.

However, me and my mate got overcharged, including an arbitrary table charge that wasn't written down anywhere, plus several drinks from a neighbouring table. Feeling suspicious, when we went back the main staff said that a group we talked to had put one of their drinks on our tab, even though they hadn't said anything of the sort until they left. We were then given a receipt for over 10000 yen, which upon checking turned out to be for a different table of five people, not our table of two (photo attached). Upon going back again, the staff didn't give us a proper receipt but instead started writing obviously inflated prices per dish by hand which apparently amounted to even more than the false receipt we were given.

Just wanted to have a good time but not going again. This is my first review, just had to write...
