KAMONKA GINZA — Restaurant in Tokyo

This restaurant made me have an allergic reaction. I arrived in a group of 6 and we were 2 to order noodles with minced meat (I don’t remember the exact Japanese name). I noticed to the waiter that I am allergic to nuts. Because of the poor English of the employees, they don’t understand right away but fortunately I had a paper with the food I am allergic to written in JAPANESE. The waiter reassure me that they will make the food I ordered without the nuts in it (first red flag : if I knew I would have ordered something else but whatever). When they bring my food, the reassure me one last time but right after few bites I feel my allergy rising. I stop eating and find one or two tiny PIECES OF CASHEW NUTS. My friend who ordered the same food had a lot of cashew nuts in it. I don’t doubt that the staff avoided any nut. Those teeny tiny pieces of cashew made me have an allergic reaction as I am severely allergic to cashew. I find insane that they weren’t mentioned on the menu (it is a common allergy) and that the staff were so chill about it. Of course the English skills of the employees didn’t help.

Tasty Chinese food! We were looking for a place for lunch and bumped into this restaurant. It is a few stairs down and it is quite nice, we went into a small private room. The lunch menu set is pretty good in both flavor and size. Having lived in China, and visiter Chengdu, the flavors feel quite traditional. Decided to try Chinese food for a change after a week in Tokyo and wasn't disappointed! Food was served piping hot. Warm and attentive service by the experienced wait staff who were patient in recommending items on the menu to us even though it was all in Japanese and they spoke very minimal English.
