Ore No Italian Tokyo 俺のイタリアのソTOKYO
Nice authentic looking Italian restaurant in Ginza Tokyo. Everything from the appetisers to the desserts were mostly on point. And it is all at a great price point!
The bread, which were served in big cubes was nice and dense, but not in a bad way! Great for mopping up sauces and oil.
Caprese Salad. Juicy, sweet cherry tomatoes are paired with rich mozzarella cheese and topped with basil oil and some salt to come together in a light and delicious combination.
For the Caesar Salad, the anchovy sauce was spot on, with great savouriness from the anchovies and bacon.
Pizzas were the star of the show for me. We had a old classic, the Margherita and a Truffle Pizza with porcini mushrooms and egg.
The crust was beautifully thin with a crispy exterior but nice chewy centre and it had a great flavour with just the right amount of salt. The tomato sauce is my favourite kind, very fresh tasting with nice umami without being too tart. The Margherita is my favourite due to the simplicity of it, simple ingredients, treated with respect make for the best meals.
The truffle pizza had a great aroma and flavour along with the egg, it was a rich mouthful.
The steak was nice and beefy with crispy fat, a very well done piece of beef (not in terms of doneness haha)
Bolognese was amazingly disappointing, it was more of a meat stew then sauce to me, very watery and not great for me as I like thicker sauces. But that’s just me.
Dessert: Catalana, nice cold cooked custard is topped with sugar and brûlée’d to form a nice crust with a hint of bitterness to counter the richness of the custard. Rich and sweet, just the way I love it.
Tiramisu was good, but it was more whipped cream then Mascarpone, so it was very fluffy instead of rich and dense, again, just a preference of mine.
All in all, a very good place to go for Italian food, reasonable prices and great food and...
Read moreHigh marks to the servers and staff who take care of you. Smile and polite. But food left a lot to be desired. The special 4 cheese spicy pizza with jalapeños was the thinnest and soggiest pizza I ever had. I could not even hold it in my hand to eat. Clearly it was frozen and prepared. The Tiramisu came with frozen strawberries, a sign that’s also frozen. The shrimp with mushroom was ok but not noteworthy. It was served sizzling but had 3 mushroom cut in half. 2 medium size shrimps and several small shrimps. The cover charge is 600 yen that is not pointed out to Japanese people but flashed to a foreigner before seating. Then a minimum spend is also mentioned - “Japanese people know it” is the claim. It’s a bit of a let down before you even sit down. I do commend the servers. Things could be improved so after spending over 6000 yen one can feel satisfied. I probably ordered all the wrong stuff that is not prepared fresh for an...
Read moreWent there for dinner yesterday. The atmosphere and service was nice. However we felt that we were cheated by paying for something that we didn't order. After being seated, we were served with 2 mini portions of appetisers. They did not specify that it was a paid item (it was also not in the menu), so we understood it as a welcome dish. However when we made the payment, we realised they charged us 1,320 yen for the item, and due to language constraint we didn't argue and ask much about it. We hope the restaurant will look into this.
Based on our dining experience, the quality of the food does not justify the price (for 8,000 yen you can easily find a reputable food place in Ginza). We personally went there after reading good...
