From my Agoda review: Probably one of the worst places I've stayed at my entire life. It was eight nights for about $700 (I got 12 nights in Kyoto for about $800 or $900 with much better quality). This is not good for anyone. There were three, squeaky, ultra soft (to the point your back hurts) twin sized beds (from the 80s) and the room was a good size, but the bedding was various shades of white and threadbare. The decor is dusty, outdated, and creepy quite frankly. Because we arrived early, we could tell the landlady just finished cleaning our room. The towels were damp when we got them. But really the worst part of the room was the fact that there was a bathroom the size of a closet. The bathtub is, and I kid you not, about 1.5 feet wide by 2.75 feet long. Measurements are not exact but I can say that you couldn't stand shoulder width apart in the tub or sit down with your legs flat. This is coming from someone who is 5 feet tall. The shower curtain is pink flamingo in green leafy jungle (very 90s) and offers two selections of mold. You can either have black mold at the top or red algae at the bottom. The ceilings also have an interesting array of mold should you be interested. This may be one of the few places remaining in Tokyo that don't have a bidet Toto toilet. But the main problem is you have about 2 inches between your knees and the door when you sit on the toilet. The standing space is about 7 inches by 7 inches, omitting the toilet and tub. Think portapotty. The bathroom door doesn't close properly but is an interesting shade of crunchy, yellow plastic. Other facilities in the room include two dusty, green curtained windows, one small wood desk and chair, one glass vanity and stool, one microwave, one refrigerator, one kettle (uncleaned), and three dusty hanging portraits with figures emerging from the woodwork. Coupled with the fact that it wasn't really near anything and that there was only one train line and one bus that serviced this neighborhood, it was pretty hard to go anywhere on foot. Honestly, choose a better hotel or place because it will make or break your Tokyo stay. Will never be returning to this episode of Hotel Hell. Feel free to fact check my review.
Edit (added after reviewing pictures): I actually forgot some details surprisingly. There were only 2 outlets, of which one is being split into 5. If you must stay here, then you can leave your luggage on the 2nd floor (reception) if you are there early or check in at 3pm. She doesn't allow early check ins. Chinese speaking (but we weren't Chinese). Neighborhood is kinda noisy so there will be early morning construction, truck revving, and late night screams. For your reference are a few photos of the reception room which is right outside of our room, photos of said black mold and bathroom. I regret to inform that those weren't the best shots...
Read moreWell, well, well… what should I say about this place to stay?… one word: dirt!As we arrived, the owner met us. She was a very strange woman, who always said something in a kind of language, that is not English, then saw that I don’t understand her, used a translator. OK.The bed linen was not changed from the previous visitors, full of long black hair. Terrible! When I called her, she came and said (using the translator) that she checked everything, maybe the neighbours slept there. Common! Does she really think I am silly?..))The towel was also with hair. She brought the new set, I said, I would change it myself. I did. Then I saw that the towel she brought was with hair again. Didn’t she understand that she had no right to treat her guests so badly! It could cause body diseases, etc. I have no words for such people. I hope only that God watches such things and she will be punished. As the room was not big and it was cold without using a conditioner for heating, I decided to check what we were breathing inside. The dust was everywhere. I decided to clean the wooden and artificial flower decorations on the walls and the chandelier from the dust. Photos attached. In the toilet there was dust everywhere. In the bathroom the foot towel was also with black hair. It was already too much for me to see this all! But I had to stay there under the circumstances. It was not easy to live there. I stayed there with my daughter and it was heartbreaking to recognise that she saw all the accommodation full of dirt. I would never use such “guest house” again. The only appreciation to this woman (house owner or who, I don’t exactly know) is that she received our luggage from the other hotel, as we were away when the luggage was brought to the hotel. One more plus is that there was a microwave, electric kettle and fridge. All the rest causes...
Read moreShould have checked Google reviews. Despite being the first to arrive, the hostess wanted to assist other Chinese guests first until they mentioned I was there first.
Bad attitude to begin with, and I was trying my best in what basic mandarin I could but she did not even bother trying to meet me halfway. Had a booking for two but she didn't want to properly check the booking id sent by my friend.
After a few mins of some exasperated communication she went to serve the other 2 Chinese groups (all of it went smoothly without any hiccups, wow!). She just went by no. of pax and booking name and suddenly it was all alright. I know the 2nd traveler had a friend too that hasn't arrived but this was no issue.
Here's the kicker, I waited for 20min, and she DIDN'T COME BACK. Talk about service.
Ended up booking a different place. Using this review platform to let off some steam so as to not ruin an otherwise...
