We stayed at stayme THE HOTEL Asakusa Riverside for 6 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We were on the second from the top floor and our room had a great view of the Tokyo Skytree from our window. It was nice being able to have the view day or night. We were able to spot our room from up in the Skytree which the kids were excited about.
The room was bigger than expected, very clean and well appointed, the kids loved the bunk beds and being able to watch the TV from them. The kitchen was perfect for preparing meals and the washer was great given our long stay. When we visited the days and nights were super hot but the Air Conditioning handled it well and our room was always comfortabe.
The hotel is very modern and in a great location, we found it perfect as it was not too crowded and busy compared to other parts of Tokyo, only a short walk to Asakusa Station where you can get on multiple lines and head to any part of Tokyo whether it is on the Metro or surface lines.
Plenty of food options and convenience stores only a short walk away as well and Ekimise shopping centre. Whilst staying here we visited the Tokyo Skytree and and Sensō-ji temple at night which was spectacular. The walk to and from the hotel was very pleasant especially along the riverside.
Would highly recommend this hotel, we really enjoyed our stay here and the kids rated it their favourite hotel of our...
Read morePlease do not stay here.. these people are terrible people rude and unfair, I accidentally made my booking in the wrong month, the then refused to change dates, and refused any refund at all so I waited for check in time which was 1 month before I traveled to Japan so of course I couldn't stay there. Once check in had passed I requested an early check as per ther rules on airbnb it said minimum stay 2 nights so i could only request one night early check, which the host then refused. And even ignored the request and mails and phone calls from airbnb. Absolutely terrible behavior the obvious were not mapping been paid for 2 nights with no one even using the place but there disgusting greedy attitude wanted all 3 nights 1000nzd. Terrible disgusting thieves!!! Even when airbnb request the change or refund the outright refused. Please never use these people hotels. They have w1 listings on airbnb so it's not like I was stopping anyone else from staying there. The host just kept saying we will help you rebook but it will cost you the same again. Obviously I didn't take them up on there offer, but will be visiting to personally deliver my disgust when I arrive in Tokyo . And just to clarify Airbnb where amazing helpful attempting to ring and...
Read moreAvoid This Hotel – Unprofessional and Unreliable Service
We had our booking canceled without warning due to an automatic credit card withdrawal error, which was caused by a time zone difference between our country and Japan. Despite having already paid the initial fee, the hotel refused to refund us or even respond to our questions.
We made the reservation through Booking.com, who have been trying to contact the hotel for several days without success. They are now investigating the hotel for this issue.
As frequent travelers to Japan, we are used to high standards of service, but the treatment we received from this hotel was unprofessional and deeply disappointing. In our opinion, their behavior borders on fraudulent.
Thankfully, we found a wonderful alternative hotel nearby that lived up to the excellent service Japan is known for.
We strongly advise against staying at this hotel. There are many other places in Tokyo that truly care about...
