The Beer Factory Kota Kinabalu — Restaurant in Borneo

VERY NICE ambience, next to the harbour/ocean, many westerners, nice music and a huge seating deck that was almost full (Saturday evening). The deck is shared by a good number of bars, some of which had live music.

Draught Heineken beer was really nice, the real deal, not the usual asian brewed H. Ordered fish and chips because we live in the Philippines and rarely get to eat it; very tasty. Service was friendly and fast. Total bill was 73 MYR, including 1 pint of beer and bottled water.

IMO this part of the city is the place to go if you want a nice chilled night out with friends, ideal for couples. Very civilised.

Edit.... there is confusion over the name... this place is 200 metres south of the Handicraft Market, on the seafront main road.... you'll see a long line of bars and restaurants. I just had an amazing time at this place by the KK Waterfront with the most breathtaking sunset views.

The rain had just cleared, and we were treated to a stunning sunset while enjoying delicious food and cold beers. We snagged the perfect seats and had the entire horizon to ourselves as the sun dipped below the water.

Went here with a group for dinner and while it does have a nice harbour view, the service was slow, the drinks and food were expensive and the menu is very limited. Several members of our party ordered drinks, only to be told 30 minutes later that they didn't have an ingredient and couldn't make them (like wine! Both red and white).
