NEW WAVE HOTEL GEORGETOWN — Hotel in George Town

We arrived 2 hours early. But couldn’t check in. That’s ok that part of the game. But when we arrived again 1 hour after check in time we still had to wait 30 min for the room to be ready. The cleaning was nonexistent. The room was full of dust and hair from previous guests. We had house pets in form of cockroaches. The ceiling in the bathroom was constant dripping water. The entire place smelled like a public toilet due the the extensive use of toilet blocks (the kind u pie on) as air fresners. The staff was properly the worst part of the “experience” at midnight they started hammering on the walls to change a lock. They didn’t welcome u because they always where on there mobile watching videos, and we where blessed the noise from that until way past midnight. The placement in town is god.

Stayed on a Thursday night. It was quiet👍👍👍 Rooms are small but affordable--3 adults , under Rm100! Good for just the night's stay. A hotel with very strategic location, offering basic stuff-- water refill station, hot water shower. Good enough! What made it special was the kind young man (receptionist) , KAMAL. He was very helpful to offer to carry our big bags up to our room by stairs as there's no elevator, and even helped with paying our parking at his own expense. We wanted to reimburse him but he politely declined. He made everything so much more bearable, and is the saving grace for this place. Ever so helpful and kind. If I ever come back here, it'd be because of him. Please pay him well to keep him. Such an asset to...
