Delicious and authentic Chinese BBQ meats over rice plates. Also known as Xiu Laap. Makes one's heart sing, haha. We got there very late for a late lunch at about 230p and they close at 4p so many things were out, understandably. We had the Laap Cheung sausage rice plate, the roasted chicken rice plate, and the Xiu Juu Yok crispy pork rice plate. They were all delicious in their own right. It was an extra nice surprise that each dish came with a small house soup made from chicken bones slow cooked for hours. Though simple, it was so flavorful and nutritious.
The young men working there were all hardworking from what I can observe, and busy though they were, they were attentive enough and the dishes came almost immediately after we ordered, preceded only by the small bowls of soup.
While we were eating, my little one all of a sudden choked on a small piece of chicken skin, giving us all a scare. Thankfully, it was resolved quickly, and thoughtfully, one of the ladies working there gave us a glass of hot water (room temp would've been better), which we thought was very nice of her as we hadn't ordered any drinks.
Overall, we enjoyed our meals very much, and plan to be back again to try the items that were out today and we'll not go too close to their closing...
Read moreOne thing I like about Asian culture is how families are close. So, in the interests of being a good koko (older brother), I set out to find a nice place to eat Hainanese chicken rice because it’s one of my sister’s favourite dishes and I want to be able to recommend her a place on her next trip home
My friend suggested Tong Seng as it’s walkable from my parents’ place. So, my parents, my uncle and I ate lunch here today. They have a nice variety of meats. We tried everything - poached chicken, roasted chicken, char siu, crispy pork, roasted duck, egg and tofu. I really liked the char siu and crispy pork. The rice was nice and fragrant and the soup had a greater depth than most chicken rice places. I’ll definitely bring my sister here on our next trip home
Do others have recommendations for chicken rice? My sister especially loves the pak cham kai (white poached...

Chicken rice was full of fragrance and sticky. Thevchicken was a bit dry and just mediocre. Chilli was ok. RM5.80 per serving. 2 stars
Salted vegetables were too salty to our liking. But, RM3.80 for such generous ingredients was valued for money. The pork skin I'm the soup was sinfully delicious but too fatty. 2 stars
Total bill RM9 60 for a lunch was a good bargain if you are aiming for a quick, satisfied meal rather than the...
