酸辣土豆丝 Hot and Sour Stir-Fry Shredded Potato = RM2.00 鱼香茄子 Braised Egg Plant with Garlic and Chillies = RM7.50 辣子鸡 La Zi Ji (Cook on Order Card) = RM15.90
Didn't Order Any Rice Service Charge 6% = RM1.52
This is a Big Eatery around the Corner from Lotus Supermarket on LG Level. Personally, I felt that this was a Very Ulu and Out of the Way Location. Its Brightly Lit, Coloured and Spacious. Even at 5.00pm Meal Times, there weren't much Customers around.
The Staffs weren't Unfriendly, but they gave me a Sian Sian "打苍蝇" Sort of Vibe. Even when I was initially excited, their responses to my queries had a very tepid feel. Their Overall Sian Sian-ness rubbed off on me, and made my mood drop quite abit.
I've tried my best to take photos of Every Side-Dish available (together with Prices). You can go to my Facebook Group to see how they look like.
酸辣土豆丝 Hot and Sour Stir-Fry Shredded Potato = RM2.00
This is usually the Most Affordable Dish when you visit such an Eatery and this one is no different. I didn't feel this was anything special. The Potato Strips have a Sourish, Vinegary Taste to them, and the Texture was Soft.
This version did not appeal to me. Culinarily Unimpressive, I feel they literally only sprinkled Vinegar on this for taste. Everything about this felt like Only the Most Bare Minimum Effort was done. Skip this. Its not worth the money even though its the Cheapest Item.
鱼香茄子 Braised Egg Plant with Garlic and Chillies = RM7.50
The Eggplant/Brinjal is Not Spicy at all, but Very Oily. Taste is Salty Savoury and its not the 煮到烂烂 Super Soft Type as there is still abit of Bite to it.
I feel this one is better to eat with Rice instead of 空口 eat like me because I feel the Saltiness started to Fight Back and got More Intense the more I ate it. Interestingly, eating this with the Potato Strips was a Nice Combo as the 2 of them Complimented each other both in Flavour and Alternating Texture. Abit of Salty Savoury mixed with some Sourish Vinegary.
辣子鸡 La Zi Ji (Cook on Order Card) = RM15.90
Being a Cook-On-Order Dish, this one took 7 Mins which was a Decent Timing. I was immediately impressed when I saw how Generously Stacked this was!
Its really alot of Meat. The Dish had a Nice Roasted Mala Aroma. Made of Thigh Meat, each of them are Coated with a Very Delicate Thin Crispy Batter that I'd compare to a Japanese Karaage. I love that the Batter is not Overly Thick and the Amount of Chicken is Legit, No Effort in trying to Scrimp. Meat has a Lovely Juicy Bite.
Although Mala 麻辣, I feel its more 麻 than 辣. Not very Spicy at all. If you enjoy your Tongue being Numbed, you will definitely enjoy this one.
As I ate this, I also thought that they would be EXCELLENT as a 下酒菜 with some Cold Beer. Unfortunately they don't sell Alcohol. If you were to come buy this, I would recommend to Dapao and go somewhere else to enjoy this with some Cold Beer. It was Enjoyable to eat this one.
Conclusion and Closing Thoughts
At RM2.00 (S$0.60) for the 酸辣土豆丝 Shredded Potato Strips, is worth the money. Limp, Sourish and Vinegary, I feel they only did the Bare Minimum Effort for it. Skip this one.
At RM7.50 (S$2.30) for the 鱼香茄子 Braised Eggplant, amount given was reasonable. Decent but nothing remarkable. Good to 下饭 I suppose.
At RM15.90 (S$4.90) for the 辣子鸡 La Zi Ji may be the Most Expensive Item, but I feel the Price is worth it, because the Amount of Meat given is Reasonable. In fact there was So Much Meat, I actually couldn't finish and had to Dapao back. The Batter was also not Overly Thick and Amount of Meat was Big enough to have a Satisfying Juicy Bite.
The Staffs here while Not Unfriendly, just have a Very Sian Sian Feel that also make me abit Sian Sian when eating here. I'll be very Brutally Honest, located in such an Ulu Location in KSL City Mall without much Human Traffic, I'm also not sure how long this place can survive. Maybe they have more Customers during the Weekends?

Read moreWe first came to this kind of restaurant. It feels like a bit of high-class cai-peng. They also have prepared a whole day of complementary daily soup with ice cubes. The staff was very friendly and smiled at everyone.
We 2 people ordered 2 rice with 2 meat and 2 veg. We felt the taste was normal and not special.
Fish (2.5/5) – tastes good, but the Sichuan peppercorn has already melted, and when you bite it, it tastes really bad. Recommended after cooked can remove it will be better.
Mixed meat (3.5/5) - a bit salty and nice to eat with rice or soup.
Potato (3/5) - normal taste, same as other restaurants
Plant egg with yardlong bean (4/5) – home-style stir-fried with garlic, but simple and nice.
Overall a new experience for us. The meal bowl – it was time to change it. I see 4 bowls, and 2 were damaged, but they are still being used.

Read moreHad lunch at 拼碗碗 Pin Wan Wan Mini Bowl in KSL City Mall today, and it was fantastic! This spot specializes in Chinese mini bowl dishes, offering a variety of flavors from Sichuan, Hunan, and Cantonese cuisines.
I ordered the salted minced pork cake, mushroom with broccoli, mala potato, and their famous la zi ji (spicy chicken). Each dish was flavorful and satisfying. A heads-up: you need to place your orders separately and pay at the cashier, as they prepare each dish fresh for you.
The mala la zi ji was a standout—crispy on the outside, tender inside, with spot-on flavors. The other dishes were equally impressive. Prices are reasonable, and there’s plenty of seating available. If you’re at KSL for lunch, I highly recommend giving this...
