Yes with a few caveats -
First off, its a new hotel which was opened in 2024 March. You can tell by the fixtures and moody modern furnishes that its a play on new stylistics which if you look at the rooms are either too Gotham dark or just trying to hide the soon to be accumulated dirt. Room wise, there are a few massive misfires. One is the safe box. I have stayed here twice 2 months apart and at both times, the safe was locked and I needed to call for help in unlocking when I checked in. Second, the light switches are a heap of nonsense. For all my stays there totaling 11 days. I cant figure out which light switch is for which. Some living room switch operates the toilet area and some...well, it aint easy. Third, a massive big issue for me was the transparent mini fridge; its strobing light flickers towards the bedside and I couldn't sleep. I had to cover with a towel and my luggage. Also, to add superior insult to an already disrupted sleep. The mini fridge doesnt work. It doesnt cool ANYTHING. Its cooler to leave it outside in the air conditioned room. I mentioned this to the staff and she agreed and said NONE of the fridges work. Her remark was its China made. Now, dont shoot the messenger....The other thing to note is there isnt a traditional flat TV screen. Rather a projector provides entertainment. So, if you are tech phobic, there will be limitations
All in all, its fantastic for a low to mid range hotel at a really cool location where food is abundant. Just straddling around the hotel, you have 4 Michelin recommended restaurants (of varying qualities IMHO); Lai Foong Lala Noodles, Nam Heong Chicken Rice, Sin Kiew Yee Shin Kee Beef Noodles and Restoran Pik Wah. A whole host of food related spots and shopping is available on walking distance. Also, do not forget to visit BookXcess RexKL just a 3 minute walk away for really affordable books and worthy Insta spot.
The staff are sorta friendly. Lastly, you cant contact the staff as there's no phone in the room. They do have a whatsapp number to text and call which again opens up a whole host of potential issues of availability and...
Read moreIt is better to stay in this hotel for no more than three days. We had a room opposite the elevator, so we could hear the music from the elevator well, it was very loud. In general, we always heard sounds from other rooms and sometimes from the street. We specifically asked for a room on the quieter side. Breakfast was Asian style (rice, noodles), the only European option (in the photo) - eggs, sausage. Fried eggs were always burnt, with a fully fried yolk, this is strange. Coffee is not tasty, strange taste. They make sweet drinks, you have to separately ask to remove the sugar. But sweet tea with milk was delicious. The service in the hotel and in the cafe is friendly and nice. You should take into account that if you arrive at night, the door to the hotel is closed, you should call the number (indicated on the door). When we arrived, we did not have mobile communication, our taxi driver helped us, he called the reception so that they would open for us. The biggest drawback of the room is the toilet and shower without a regular door, there is just one door that moves between the toilet and shower. Using the toilet when you are not alone in the room is very uncomfortable. The room has shower gel, shampoo, slippers, water, a kettle, a hair dryer, a shaving kit (tea, coffee are not included). Toothbrushes and toothpaste (they only put it once in 6 nights). You can walk from the hotel: Chinatown, Merdeka, Sultan Abdul building, the river of life, several temples, Negara mosque. By taxi 15 minutes - Perdana Park, National Museum, Mini India area. Also one metro station from the hotel is KL sentral station, from there there is a bus to the Awana skyway cable car. If you want to walk around the area near Petronas, Central Park, Pavilion - you need to go by metro 30 minutes from the hotel. Public transport in the city is very convenient and...
Read moreOverrated advertising at Social Media & Disappointing Experience with Careless Staff . Recently stayed at this hotel and was extremely disappointed with my experience. Upon arrival, the check-in process was handled by an untrained and careless lady staff. We unavailable to enter the room initially as the staff registered us with a wrong room number in system. To make matters worse, she only checked us in for one night even though our reservation was for two nights. So we have to go to counter there couple of times just to get into our room...This mistake caused a significant inconvenience as we had to deal with re-checking in the following day. STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT THE HOTEL SHOULD GIVE PROPER TRAIN TO THEIR STAFF :)
Beside, the room's toilet has poor ventilation and the soundproofing was inadequate. We could hear noise from the corridor at morning, making us suddenly wake up.
The corridor and the lift were quite hot, not so comfortable. As the other lift is still in service, so we have to wait quite some time for the only one lift to arrive also.
But there's some good things regards this hotel. As in the design & atmosphere of hotel is quite nice. We did love the projection in room, and the venue of hotel is conveniently indeed. Just still this hotel has a lot of rooms to improve... Feels like the Instagram advertising is abit...
