Waaronkuus in Petaling Street, Kuala Lumpur, felt like finding a hidden gem in the middle of a busy marketplace full of goods and people. I’ve been to Kuala Lumpur before, but this was my first time visiting Petaling Street, the heart of KL's Chinatown. Our teammate brought us here while looking for a place that was affordable, close to the KL Sentral station, and convenient enough for us to head back to the airport before our layover ended.

That’s when we discovered Makan by Waaronkruus - and I’m glad we did. The food was excellent and truly showcased authentic Malaysian cuisine. Each of us ordered something different (which were all well appreciated by my friends), but I went with the chicken laksa. It cost a little over 200 Php, which was very reasonable, and it tasted way better than I expected. The blend of aromatic spices, laksa paste, creamy coconut milk and whatever else is there has produced a fragrant broth and a flavor bomb meal. It would've been a true comfort bowl for my wife, if she were with me. It’s definitely a great spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner if you’re nearby...

Craving for Nasi Lemak, too lazy to go to PJ so I checked for nearby place..saw that they have good review rating. Well, I'm glad we eat here! The Nasi lemak is as good as Burung Hantu minus the crowd. Flavourful rice, the chicken is juicy and tender, sambal cooked to perfection.

The hospitality are also impeccable, they gave a slice of free pandan cake that is good portion. Drink are also good, the coffee are thick and yummy. The ice lemon tea are home made with nice foamy bubbles. You know it is well made kinda ice lemon tea not packet and diluted.

The staff are attentive and friendly. Leaving review as I believe they deserve it. The staff came and ask about the food, I said it's good! Already took photo for the review later. He said oh if give honest review we will give complimentary Cendol. I said, I will give review without the Cendol, I'm full 😂😂 the waiter nicely told me, I can pack for you. All the more reason to add ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ to the review.

Best of luck! And please maintain the good service and...

The Best Halal Cafe That Serves Malaysia Local Food In Petaling Street!

We were introduced to this Halal Petaling Street cafe by B Hotel based on their latest promotion by add on another RM10 per pax for the cafe’s breakfast, but overall the whole experience is just superb! Delicious food, friendly staffs and clean dining environment, definitely worth for another visit!

As we are enjoying our food here, we are lucky to found out that there is another food blogger coming for their video shooting at the table nearby! So we take the opportunity to snap some of the great cafe food too! Some cafe’s recommendation includes the Nasi Lemak with Ayam Berempah, Seafood Fried Rice, Fried Chicken Chop with Buttermilk Sauce, and Char Kuey Teow. Perhaps trying some of them during the next visit.

Besides, if you are satisfied with their food, why not supporting the cafe by grabbing some of their Ready-To-Eat food series? Taste exactly the same as cooked freshly from the kitchen, these does not cost...
