When my friend and I arrived in KL we were extremely exhausted and a little lost. We eventually located the hotel - only to find out that it was the wrong one! Funky guesthouse apparently has five branches and we booked at funky hut, only we arrived at another branch. The staff handled this situation very well, they even had someone walk us to the right one! Here we could also lean back and relax a little while they were setting up the room very fast (we arrived about four hours early, this was no problem) and our bags were carried upstairs. The rooms there are very cute, lodges in the middle of the city and there was a place where you could sit down and watch the people on the streets. The lodge was clean and handsoap was provided. The location was perfect, very nearby Bukit Bintang station and there are lots of restaurants, shops (amongst them a mall) and clubs in the vicinity. When we wanted to go out at night we couldn't find a proper bar on our own (as I said we get lost easily) so we went to the reception and asked them for directions. They not only gave us directions, they even had someone of the staff go with us! He knew everything about the nightlife in KL and was very kind. We hung out with him and his friends for a couple of hours before going back. It is indeed quite noisy at night in the rooms and you can hear the neighbours (there was a lady singing on our right for a couple of minutes in the middle of the night), but we were too tired to care about this. Definitely an experience! ||Tldr; great service, good location, clean rooms and awesome staff....
Read moreJust like other hostel/backpackers, this hotel have verandah for those who stay to chill and chit chat wth other guests. I advice not to get a room number 206. Why? As I mentioned, the hotel have verandah. During late night, expect of other guests will have drinking session thus the place gonna be noisy. Unless if you sleep like a log or a type of person who can sleep with noisy environment. I was struggling to sleep, with the loud laughs and the cars passing by. I wish i am rude enough to ask those guests to slow down their voices.||||Prepare your own toiletries as the hotel didnt provide any. Some rooms are attached with bathroom, some are not. The TV only have one channel so I suggest you to bring your HDMI cable or any hard disc to prevent ypur boreness. All rooms are non-smoking.||||How's the room looks like? Just a queen size bed, with 2 pillows and one comforter, tv and air conditioner attached on the wall. That's it . that is why I said, not worth of money, but the hotel located in the middle of...
Read moreFirstly, staff are great; really friendly and helpful. I loved the idea of huts on the roof in the city, but in practice it was a terrible idea:|The huts are nice enough but the sound insulation is terrible so you can't actually sleep with the constant sound of noisy cars and motorbikes racing by, and a number of guests seem to always be out on the balcony being loud (it's 2 am and I've not been able to sleep so far). The cribs downstairs are fine but a little grim, I spent my first night of three there - cold shower and broken furniture, but a little quieter....
