Golden Lodge — Hotel in Pahang

Unpleasant management and wrong room. Lodge by itself is very nice and comfortable. Good kitchen with water dispenser, new plates, stove. Territory is calm and nice with patio. Location is so close to go by walk to the center of Tanah Rata. Fresh mountain air, terrace at every stage of building. Hot water in shower, toothbrushes and shampoo with body gel for free. Shower is connected to toilet so be careful with tissues and towels. Don't make them wet. Cleaned rooms with good condition towels, bed sets. Second building which is higher than reception building is more upgraded. At the entrance we were experiencing unfriendly stuff lady which even didn't say hi to us. She continued talking to someone by mobile. Then she gave us keys and said to go right way. We went to the wrong building as we didn't know that lodge has two buildings. We moved in wrong room. In two hours couple came in to our room and opened it with their keys. We were shocked. Suddenly this management lady came and said it's not our room. So we packed bags and went out. On the way management lady came again and said to stay in this room. We were asking if this is the same room which we paid 123 rm per night. She said yes. The room which we wrongly stayed was very small, little bit smell and windows not fully closing. I decided to check another building room as I was asking room with balcony. I found big difference between rooms which we ordered and management said it's the same. Next day we moved to room which we have orderd. But one night we spent in cheaper room which cost around 95-100 rm. So management didn't give us correct information. First night we spent in standart queen room and other nights we spend in Superior queen room which we had to stay in from the beginning. I really was stressed at the first day by all this situation. And even next day nobody said sorry to us just gave keys for the right room. And our room was more expensive than first night room so we present to golden lodge hotel 20-30 rm. Attitude should be...

It's divided into two buildings. Our building was at the rear, assess-able via stairs or walking up the hill. The building consist of three floors with our room on the middle floor facing the front view attach with private balcony. Only the middle floor came with private balcony for each room. The top floor only offer one balcony at the resting area. Nothing much to see except for the grand Zenith Hotel and trees.

No elevator. No sound-proofing wall. Beware during peak season and especially if other guess came with kids/babies. The do have a rule that you have to be quiet from 11pm to 7am. But, can you apply said rule with kids/babies?

Each room are supply with body towel, face towel, toothbrush kit, shampoo and body wash. There is also air conditioner, hair dryer, fan and water heater. They do provide iron with iron board which needed to be share. Cooking or eating is not allow inside the room.

They do offered a kitchen shareable by guess and the lodge's employee. If you feel like cooking, my advice is don't. Do not even attempt to open the fridge if you want your appetite intact. It's such a surprise that the room is clean compare to the kitchen. But, if you still prefer cooking, bring your own supply. They only offer a stove, a microwave, a water cooler and a fridge with questionable items in it. And of course you have to wait for your turn to use it.

With a 5 to 10 minutes walk, you'll reach Tanah Rata town with almost all the facility needed.

Third time staying here and it has changed name. Reaching late at midnight but staff being helpful on check in progress. Strategic location, easy access to main street in 5 mins walking distance. Multiple food stalls around and convenience. Double bed room with fan and aircond, clean and comfy, as well as the bathroom. Towel and toiletries is provided, worth of the money. There is pantry with hot and cold water dispenser, free coffee and tea. Main entrance has a vending machine provided snack and drinks.

The air dryer is not working, probably is the socket problem. Fan and aircond without controller, can't adjust the speed or temperature. The little sink with a the mirror shelf on top has a very little space, and I feel dangerous while freshen up. The environment is cozy and chill, however we are unlucky as there are groups of big bikers staying together and they make quite loud noise.
