My wife and I came to Cabo for our 2nd anniversary. Beautiful city and wonderful people here, but mind you, Cabo is an expensive tourist city, no doubt about it.
We've had $25 USD shots of well tequila and $100 USD dinners of 4 tacos, and it started to add up. We did a little shopping at a local grocery store but it wasn't always easy to make breakfast at our AirBNB (which was an amazing room BTW) so we looked around and my wife found Jarro.
We walked to it, and you wouldn't even know it was there. A massive hotel is being built across the street from it, and I'm sure it will be beautiful when it's done, but Jarro is tucked away, barely noticeable, and without much curb appeal.
Step inside though and not only are you greeted by a nice wait staff whom speak English well enough for a gringo like me to get by, but the whole inside is a vibe in the best way. It doesn't matter that the roof is just plywood with nails rammed into it, if anything I'd be mad if it wasn't like that.
No A/C, no problem, they have fans everywhere, and with limited sun infiltration it never gets very hot, just a little humid, but that's ok because it's Cabo!
The food here, though limited in choice, is fantastic. Home made, no frills, but authentic, fresh, and very tasty. The coffee here is amazing and so are the fresh fruit drinks and smoothies. From a breakfast burrito and omelets, to tacos and divorced eggs, everything here is worth trying.
Small adorable birds will fly in and say hey every once in a while, which made our breakfast there even better.
My wife and I ate here every morning and would recommend ya'll try it at least one time. Breakfast for 2 with drinks was usually around $20 USD. Go down the street to Sur, and yeah the view is majestic, but the same breakfast is going to be around $150, and that math just doesn't math for me.
Give Jarro a shot and see...
Read moreMy wife and i didnt know where to go so the night before our cruise got there i found this for coffee and a good breakfast. Im not a Chilaquiles fan do to living near no place that does it right and this place changed my breakfast life. I took a bite and had to stop eating and just enjoy the new flavors ive never had before. Crispy fresh chips, perfectly cooked eggs and the spicy rojo sauce was out of this world good. Dont sleep on this place im telling you, you won't regret it! The beans, the beans dude omg seriously nothing is close. I also got a coffee and it was fantastic, and im a coffee snob. My wife got the vampire juice with beets and she drank it without breathing so i can tell you this place is the most authentic experience ive had since my family reunion in southern california 25 years ago. We went back for lunch and the enchiladas were great too but the breakfast just blew us away. The service was so great too the young guy with the hat was a amazing server. We cant wait to visit cabo again to enjoy the best breakfast weve...
Read moreCame here twice on a one week trip to Cabo. Great spot for breakfast and lunch especially. They have delicious Mexican breakfasts including an awesome platter with all the favorites. There are also hot cakes and French toast. The hot cakes are very thick and delicious. A little different than American style ones but in my opinion much better. They also have an espresso bar with lots of fancy coffee options. There are also smoothies and what looks like maybe shakes. Prices are very reasonable especially considering the quality. It is just a very short walk from the beach or maybe 10 minutes from the marina and the food is half the price and twice the quality. Definitely a good spot to stop. It got slightly busy on a Saturday in February but there was no wait for a seat and food came quick. Menu is mostly English and the staff speak very good English as well if you are worried about that. Cash only, which is pretty common here. Be sure not to use an ATM on the marina, go to one of the banks...
