VIVA Residence — Hotel in Quintana Roo

Looks good on the surface, but I've had major problems with the WiFi during my one month stay. The manager was not eager for any sort of refund, although I couldn't hold any zoom conferences in my own apartment and instead had to buy expensive day passes for co-working spaces with zoom booths (digital jungle 39 USD for 4 hours).

The internet speed is in deed not bad. But the WiFi routers and repeaters they installed are so poor quality that the connection literally gets cut off every 5 minutes. It's a horror show for those who work from home.

Very disappointed with the overall management. Noise complaints were ignored, cleaning service (38 USD) was sometimes great but sometimes sloppy, we were initially given one key for three people in a 6 PAX capacity penthouse apartment and none of the concierges took care of it, even after demanding copies for a whole day. Copies were then made after two days.

The host I rented from was amazing; great communication and accommodating, even allowing me to drop off my luggage before check-in, which I really appreciated.

The unit had excellent hot water and decent water pressure, but it was quite basic and felt a bit stuffy. It faces a brick wall, so there’s zero natural light, making it feel dark early in the day. Te cuento un poco de como fue nuestra experiencia. El recibimiento fue muy cordial por la parte de concierge, pensamos que iba a ser una grata experiencia, pero todo fue empeorando cada momento.

Jamás tuvimos internet, ya que nadie se sabía la contraseña del modem y en dos días no pudieron hacer nada al respecto. El departamento contaba con dos habitaciones, pero solo en una servía el AC El escusado no servía pero por lo que nos comentó el chico de mantenimiento es algo muy recurrente en todos los departamentos. Así que vete preparado para tener que llenar una cubeta para jalarle. El departamento no cuenta con tenedores, por lo que es muy interesante el reto de comer todo con cucharas.
