The place is beautiful, the pool is great, the staff is lovely, breakfast is delicious, the room (Majorelle) was gorgeous as well. The bathroom is also a thing of beauty, there's a rooftop if you'd like to get some sun. You have to walk a little bit to get to most places, but the location is good nonetheless. Unfortunately, the stay was ruined by Frederic, the owner, who was aggressive and hostile towards my partner and me. The property doesn't allow guests to bring food from outside, which they justify by saying they serve dinner themselves. On our first night there, I ordered a pizza around midnight. I didn't realise you weren't supposed to bring food in even when they're clearly not serving food at the riad anymore. Both hosts barely speak English, so they speak to me in French. Frederic comes to the door when the pizza is being delivered and screams at me that we need to go eat this pizza outside, in the streets. I say I'm sorry, I didn't know there would be an issue, but I'm not going to eat in the streets. My partner worked US hours while we were in Marrakech, meaning he couldn't leave starting at around 15h, so the next day I brought him food knowing it was not allowed. I'd rather break the rules than leave him hungry. The riad only serves dinner if you order it during breakfast, so it's not like you can just ask them to whip something up for you when you're hungry. In any case, the next morning the owner, Frederic, STORMS into the courtyard while we're having breakfast, SCREAMING in French asking me if I understand French. I say I do, he then continues SCREAMING asking me why then did I bring the pizza inside on the night we arrived. I said I'd already explained to him, I didn't realise the rule applied even when they weren't serving any food, and I wasn't about to go eat in the streets of Marrakech at midnight. He SLAMS both of his hands on the table where we were having breakfast, and SCREAMS that I was supposed to have gone out to eat in the streets, if he sees us with any food inside the riad again, he'll throw us out into the street, that we should thank Delphine for not having been kicked out yet. My partner doesn't speak French, which is the only reason he didn't immediately react. Frederic violated my physical integrity, intimidating and assaulting me by screaming and slamming his hands right by me on the table. When confronted about it, Frederic said his behaviour was completely justified and acceptable because we broke the rules. If a guest breaks rules, they can be fined, or politely informed that they will be asked to leave now or if this should occur again. Nothing gives anyone the right to berate and abuse a guest or customer. We should have called the police on him, but we were in total shock. It's truly sad because were it not for him, the place would be 5 stars. I feel worst of all for his wife, Delphine, who does her utmost to show hospitality and has to deal with his man every day...

Read moreDelphine and Fred were the most welcoming hosts and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was unforgettable and honestly enhanced our experience in Marrakesh. They arranged for our airport transfers (€15 for 3 people) and greeted us at the square, welcoming us with Moroccan tea and pastries. We also extended our stay when my mum was able to join us and they were so accomodating. Just to highlight their attention to detail, they ever so kindly gave me a birthday present having seen it on the form that we filled out which was a lovely surprise and went out of their way to make a sugar free cake when my mum mentioned she was diabetic! Communication wasn't an issue either, as English speakers, our French isn't great but Google translate helped out and vice versa for them.||||The riad is a 10 min walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa so is in a great location as it provided a much needed oasis from the hectic markets (stepping back in made us feel so calm). Delphine showed us the route and gave us some top tips on navigating the markets/sellers whilst also suggesting places to eat (we tried quite a few and could not fault any of their recommendations).||||The riad has decent size rooms and are super clean, with basic toiletries and separate towels are provided for the room and pool. The terrace was a great place to relax and a great part of the riad to enjoy a drink and do some shisha. We had dinner one night and the vegetarian couscous and tagine tasted so much better than others we tried in restaurants during our stay (the portions were huge though)! We also booked the relaxing massage which we were able to do in the riad (this was so good)! Wifi can be a bit spotty, like many parts of Marrakesh but this didn't bother us and we'd even seen that they had implemented a solution when we saw them before our flight.||||We checked out early on our last day and Fred & Delphine arranged for us to have breakfast early and also walked us to our pickup point in the dark. And whilst we couldn't stay with them again on our last night (having returned from a tour), they kindly offered to keep hold of our luggage so that we could wonder on our last day, personally picking us up from a different riad so that we wouldn't have to walk through the busy markets with our luggage (they are so thoughtful)! This was also because we had ordered some pastries through them to bring back to the UK - they were able to get them at local prices for us, saving us from paying for tourist prices!||||Thank you Delphine and Fred for all of your help, it was a pleasure to meet you and stay at...
