5/5 from us, impeccable. We popped in to book a table for the evening after, we were welcome by Nesrine at the desk. She was very friendly and listened to our requests carefully: I have life threatening allergies and carry an allergy card with me when I go abroad. She booked us a table on the terrace as requested and kept my allergy card. When we got to the restaurant for dinner the day after, she recognised us and had my allergy card ready to go! When I ordered with our waiter Mustafa, he was already prepared because Nesrine had given him my allergy card: this made me feel very safe in eating at this restaurant and to me counted as going above and beyond! Mustafa was a very attentive waiter and gave good recommendations. He was friendly and always had a smile on his face - we notice him being very attentive with other guests too. We had the ceviche and briouates for starters: both delicious but the sea bream ceviche was the absolute highlight of our whole meal. To die for. My partner had the beef shank tanjia for main and I had the Raviole Makfoule Tajine. Both very tasty, even tho I wish I ordered the tanjia too because it was so nice! We finished with the pistachio crème brûlée (Do not miss this dessert, omg!) and the teffour de slimana (very interesting dessert, I had never had anything like it!). All washed down with two bottles of house rosé, we paid shy of £115 for two people. Absolutely worth it for a meal of this quality and such great service! Last but not least, gorgeous terrace and atmosphere, very welcoming, and they have blankets and fires for the cold types. If you don’t fancy the terrace, there are two floors inside that have fireplaces and are both modern and toasty! Don’t miss a visit to this great restaurant, our food highlight...
Read moreOur dining experience here was a total letdown, and no amount of pretty decor could save it. The vibe is pure Instagram date-night bait—gorgeous setting, lovely service—but the food? babes it was a hot mess that didn’t live up to the upscale hype.
The starters and mains showed up with these pseudo-tuiles, all laser-cut and trying way too hard to scream fancy. they didn’t. The "Moroccan risotto" was a straight-up scam—made with orzo, not rice, and the menu didn’t bother to mention it. If you’ve got gluten issues, watch out, because when we questioned it, the staff said "Moroccan risotto" is made with orzo. we googled... it's not.
The Médina bowl started aka Kim K-worthy bowl of quinoa, avo, poached egg, and salad was ruined by a sour overcooked egg that tasted like it was poached in vinegar water, a cheap hack for the inexperienced cook.
The octopus, as other reviews warned, was a rubbery, stringy disaster—either not fresh, thawed in a rush, or grossly cooked. The sauces were okay, but that white puree felt out of place flavour wise. the staff refunded it since we left it untouched.
The veal shank couscous was not a shank but a dry, fork-sized piece of meat. The couscous and veggies were so drowned in cinnamon it pervaded every bite.
The staff were nice, but the food was a major flop. Those glowing reviews, perhaps people are blinded by the ambiance, have low standards, or we visited in a bad kitchen day. Save your money and go...
Read moreExpensive & Overrated to the Extreme. A very disappointing experience despite the beautiful decor of the roof terrace and well dressed tables throughout the restaurant floors. Service from staff was minimal and information about the food was not forthcoming. Eg. When the Tapas arrived. It was left on the table. We had to call the waitress back to explain what the different dips were. The lamb shank ravioli was ridiculously overpriced for 5 pieces of ravioli with half a teaspoonful of meat packed in them. The normal sized plate arrived half empty. My friend faced the biggest disappointment of his life - if you want to feel the same - order the lamb shank ravioli!!🥴 So underwhelming when the dish arrived we didn't bother to take a photo. In hindsight, should've so we had proof of what I'm referring to! The drinks menu came in paper from. But you are forced to use their QR code to see the menu online - which I despise, cos whenI'm out to dinner. I want to focus on the company and moment and not have to look at my device. If restaurant can provide an overpriced drinks menu, then they can also provide the overpriced food menu too. And on that final note: wouldn't recommend nor would I return to this...
