Located in the Thamel neighborhood in Kathmandu, 20.9 km from Nagarkot, Hotel Amaryllis features a restaurant, bar and free WiFi throughout the property. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. Every room at this hotel is air conditioned and is equipped with a flat-screen TV with satellite channels. Certain accommodations include a sitting area where you can relax. All rooms come with a private bathroom. For your comfort, you will find slippers and free toiletries. There is a 24-hour front desk at the property. The hotel also provides bike rental and car rental. The nearest airport is Tribhuvan Airport, 5 km from Hotel Amaryllis. Thamel is a great choice for travelers interested in shopping, food and hiking. They were doing construction and drilling for hours and it was insanely loud. The heat doesn’t stay on long enough to warm the room. The bathroom window wouldn’t close so it got a bit cold. Because there were not many guests, they gave me a simple breakfast choice which was good but not as nice as another hotel I stayed at near by. The staff was nice. The room was large. There was hot water. The internet was good. They upgraded my room because the property wasn’t full. Friendly staff that helped where...
Read moreI booked this place via Booking.com and the reviews looked good. Also here on Google Maps the reviews are fine. But in reality it wasn't that great. 2 out of 5 stars because of the price, if it would be cheaper I would rate 3 stars.
On arrival my room was ready before 12:00, that was a plus. The bed was nice and I slept good but the shower was horrible. Almost no water coming out from the shower head. The AC wasn't working either, so that are two defects already. Then the curtains are installed in a stupid way. If you close them, they do not cover the full window, so what is the point of that? The master key to turn on the electricity in the room is jamming with the ceiling lights and the breakfast buffet doesn't exist. You can choose something from the memu all carte.
I am disappointed, as I wanted to stay in a nice hotel before I left home. That...
Read moreMy wife and I stay at the great little hotel every time we stay in Thamel. The staff are super friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms are good with plenty of hot water for those cold Kathmandu mornings. The beds are extremely comfortable, just what you need after a busy day of sightseeing and shopping. The plus point for me is that you can sit in the small garden in relative peace and quiet even though you are in the bustling heart of Thamel. The Garden of Dreams is just a two minute walk away , the old royal palace just 5 minutes walk away and Durbar square about 15 minutes walk. The hotel is down a small side street giving it peace and quiet even though you are in the heart of busy busing Thamel. You have more restaurants than you could ever eat at, all within a short walk and are in the heart ofa shoppers paradise ....
