Bishwonath Hotel — Hotel in Kathmandu Metropolitan City

In spite of teeming with staff, the hotel is terribly mismanaged. I, a single person, was charged 2,000 NPR for a room with a single bed. Contrary to what has been mentioned here, breakfast wasn't included. The geyser doesn't work, so one was forced to bathe with cold water throughout one's stay. The restaurant service is very slow; the staff is apathetic, inattentive and sometimes even forgets orders! They have to be reminded time and again even to fill a water jug; due to lack of response, I was sometimes forced to fill it myself.The water in the bathroom taps is discoloured, and in all probability contaminated. Also, the staff makes a lot of noise in the night, robbing tired guests of much-needed sleep. The place is swarming with mosquitoes making sleeping in the nights difficult. The manager is a cheat who is just out to make a quick buck and has no real concern about the well-being of guests. Nepal is very beautiful, but this hotel is to be avoided...

Taxi driver took me to this hotel saying he will get a good price for me but July is rainy season/ off season in Nepal and businesses are quite but they charged me 3500 per night for cheap and dirty room so called deluxe Ac room. I was soo tired flying from Scotland to Nepal. I knew the room price is not more than 1500 but they said 3500. I don’t know how much commission the driver got from the hotel for taking me there. The same night I booked a different hotel on booking.com for less than half price where I paid 1500 and room was much bigger and cleaner. Please don’t stay at this hotel, they are better hotels available in thamel with lesser price. I stayed in hotel marshyangdi on my return from Pokhara and the hotel was very nice. Mr Bishownath don’t cheat people and renovate the rooms. Please stay away from this...

Very badly managed hotel. The manager expects guests to pay their bills even before they check out. He forces guests to take hotel vehicles only and charges high amounts, arbitrarily. When we were to leave for the airport, the manager ushered in a taxi from outside, took 500 NPR from me, but paid the taxi driver only 300 NPR. He tries to exploit people in every way possible, especially if they are ladies.
