Kathmandu Madhuban Guest House — Hotel in Kathmandu Metropolitan City

It was my bad luck that i booked this hotel for my 2 nights Kathmandu visit. I was traveling with my old-aged Parents(both in 70's), Sister, Wife and kid. It was our first time trip to Nepal. The Hotelier Kedar Aryal denied us check in, saying MMT paying us less, either you pay the difference amount of 3500/- for 2 night stay which i already booked though MMT by paying Rs. 4608/- or consider it fully cancelled. I was helpless in that situation as we were extremely tired reaching there after a long journey and no sim working and no internet i was unable to get any help. He kept me and my family stranding there for more than an hour, denied even water and forgot about WiFi. After a long discussion and argument, he Charged me extra money Rs 3000/- for check-in after down-grading rooms without any amenities and breakfast instead of rooms that are originally booked. I don't know how this hotel gets such a good review, there were no AC rooms, no toiletries, old and filthy washrooms, no Tea/Coffee kit or even water provided. The hotelier was such a scammer and narrow minded person, he didn't even provide drinking water bottles with rooms. Arguing over everything he spoiled our Trip, left me in stress and mental agony. Amazing stay in the heart of Thamel! This hotel is a gem in the center of Thamel. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and hassle-free. Here's what stood out: -Reliable hot water: Even during the rainy season, even in the morning, even in May, we always had hot water, which is a luxury in many places. -Secure luggage storage: We left our belongings here for three weeks while trekking and they were returned to us safely and promptly. The other time the staff even went the extra mile to send our bags to Pokhara when we requested. -Clean and comfortable rooms: The rooms were spotless and the bedding was fresh.
