Nestled in the heart of Kathmandu, Nepal, Thamel's Roadhouse wood-fired pizza restaurant is a gastronomic gem that promises an exceptional dining experience. With its delectable range of pizzas cooked to perfection in traditional wood-fired ovens, this eatery has garnered a reputation that extends far beyond its captivating location.

Upon stepping foot inside the restaurant, guests are greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance, complemented by the mesmerizing aromas wafting from the ovens. The attentive and friendly staff immediately make you feel like a valued guest, ready to guide you through the menu and cater to your preferences.

The true magic lies in the mouthwatering pizzas crafted with passion and expertise. Each pizza is a culinary masterpiece, featuring a thin, crispy crust with a delightful smoky flavor that only wood-fired ovens can impart. The menu boasts a diverse selection of toppings, from classic Margherita to inventive combinations that cater to all taste buds. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available, ensuring a delightful experience for everyone.

In addition to the outstanding pizzas, the restaurant offers a carefully curated selection of appetizers, salads, and desserts. The freshness of the ingredients shines through in every bite, reflecting a commitment to quality that sets this establishment apart.

Thamel's wood-fired pizza restaurant is not just a place to eat; it's an experience that captivates the senses and leaves a lasting impression. Whether you're a local or a visitor, a meal here is a must-do in Kathmandu. Prepare to indulge in a symphony of flavors, accompanied by impeccable service, and savor a slice of heaven right in the...

We went for dinner around 8pm. The place looked and felt lively and the overall vibe was comfortable. However, the food was very disappointing. We had the pizza Margherita, spaghetti carbonara and fish & chips and for drinks, a virgin mojito each.

The pizza was greasy and really floppy, you can't eat it without folding it or without cutlery, which beats the whole appeal of having pizza. The cheese they used for the carbonara had a very sharp taste/smell, similar to goat's meat, which we found off putting (this may vary person to person) and the fish and chips was very mediocre. I can't fathom why they don't just serve a single large fillet of fish instead of tiny cutlets. The chips weren't that great and the tartare sauce was lacking flavour.

The virgin mojitos however, were the worst offender as they used crystal sugar instead of sugar syrup, which meant that almost none of the sugar had dissolved into the cold mixture and were all collected at the bottom. If you dipped your straw too deep, all you got was sugar chunks, akin to drinking sand. And if you pulled your straw upto a shallower part of the glass, there was no sweetness at all. When we asked the staff if this could be fixed, they were quite polite and said yes and took our drinks. But when they brought it back, little had been done to change it.

This entire review might sound a bit snobbish, but for a restaurant charging 2.5-3 times more than other regular restaurants, there has to be an improvement in quality which I could not...

Overall I really like this restaurant till the point it became my place to go for dinner during my stay in Kathmandu. I tried different dishes on the menu and my favourite ones were the nachos (the vegetables are very well season and it has a spicy hint which a really love, really great flavour and nothing like those nachos that are heavy and mix with lots of things) and grilled chicken (which it is very nice for a change after many days enjoying the local cuisine). The pizza is also good and the sandwiches are actually great. If you come around 7pm, the place is lovely, great atmosphere and not too busy. From 8:30pm it gets quite busy as many people come here for pizza and drinks. The have a good selection of drinks and cocktails. I tried their cheesecake and brownie and they were good too. The service is also good. I would like to mention Astha who welcomed me and my husband every night with a big smile. She was lovely, very professional and made us feel special. She is definitely very valuable for the team and I hope they know she...

Tried the spicy tuna pizza at Roadhouse Café for the first time, and I must say it completely exceeded my expectations! Roadhouse is already known for its great pizzas, but this one turned out even better than the classic chicken pizza. The flavors were perfectly balanced with just the right kick of spice. The space was comfortable, and the overall ambience was really nice great for catching up with friends or just enjoying a good meal. However, one thing I felt could be improved is the water service. It would be more welcoming if they offered regular drinking water as a basic courtesy. Currently, they only serve mineral water if you order it, which feels a bit off for an otherwise great dining experience. Overall, a fantastic visit with delicious food just hoping for a little more hospitality when it comes to water service.

This is the place for an amazing thin crust pizza! Situated right in the middle of my favorite part of Kathmandu, away from the diesel smoke pollution of the main roads, this place has everything going for it. The atmosphere is second to none, and it’s amplified as soon as the sun sets in the western sky. You won’t find the locals here, but you’ll spot people from round the globe conversing about their hiking tales, front sided or post. Many delicious meals are available, all within a traveler’s budget. Sample the local premium Nepali beer, Gorkha. If a Portuguese man mated with a lady from Nepal, you’d have The man-child, pictured on the label with the tagline, “Dedicated to the brave”. He Looks as if he could be the cocky grandson of the Sandeman Port dude, minus the famous cape! Enjoy

Having visited Roadhouse Café on several occasions, I can confidently say it remains one of the most consistent and reliable dining spots in Thamel. While the menu offers a variety of options, the standout dish for me has always been the Fish and Chips — freshly prepared, perfectly crispy, and full of flavor. It's a simple dish done exceptionally well. In addition to that, their pizza is a crowd favorite and continues to be one of their bestsellers. With a thin, wood-fired crust and generous toppings, it's ideal for sharing or enjoying solo. The ambiance is cozy with a relaxed vibe, making it a great place to unwind whether you're a local or a traveler. If you find yourself in or around Thamel, Roadhouse Café is highly recommended for a satisfying meal and pleasant dining experience.
