I loved my stay here in March. Ram is rightfully very proud of his hotel and his welcoming and sincere smile was one of the highlights of my trip. The hotel has a very knowledgeable and helpful (but not pushy) crew who effortlessly made me feel even more comfortable travelling alone. The location is so convenient (in Thamel) and it was so much fun to leave the relatively quiet haven of the garden and this cosy hotel and to step out into the bustle, right outside the door. When I came home, a rest in the garden was so restorative. Everything is clean and lovingly tended, and the breakfast very generous. |Even though it's right in tourist town, the noise was interesting rather than invasive. I loved listening to the sounds of the city til midnight when the shutters of the shop owners came down and everything was quiet until dawn. (Except for the activities of the street dogs who were living their best lives at night of course - which I also love.) I will return and sincerely hope Ram is...
Read moreI could write about great location and really tasty breakfast but it's the people who make the place! And here work the nicest, friendliest, and most accommodating people. They let me check-in earlier, helped with getting taxis in the city, advised us on the souvenirs we wanted to buy, let us modify the time of our stay (our plans changed while in Nepal), and agreed to make us breakfast at 5:30am because of our early flight! We felt extremely well taken care of. The place is located very well, close to Durbar Square by walk and if you like walking I recommend also going to Swayambhunath by foot from there. I booked the hotel for before the trekking and I liked the place so much that I also booked it for the after trekking. The rooms were clean, with AC and unlimited supply of drinking water. If I go back to Kathmandu I'm only...
Read moreIf I could give them 10 stars for service, I would! I am travelling alone and fell ill on my first day in Kathmandu. I couldn't have bern at a better hotel to be sick in. They, especially Deepak, took such great care of me!--accompanying me to hospital twice, free tea brought to my room, complete room service for meals. Deepak even went out of his way to call me regularly to make sure I was o.k. I felt so well looked after, and this made a world of difference to me during my recovery. Beyond that, they were also really helpful with all my further travel arrangements. I feel like I found a home away from home there. The hotel is also very clean, and the rooms are cozy, comfortable snd quiet. I highly recommend staying at Hotel Dream City and hope to be back again...
