Hotel Yukhang — Hotel in Kathmandu Metropolitan City

Hotel is well located with shops and restaurants close by- that’s the only good thing about the place. But you do need to walk a minute or so in a quiet alley to get to the hotel- which didn’t feel safe so we always traveled in groups. The rooms are tiny, not well lit, they don’t clean the cups and glasses regularly, bed is not comfortable and the toilets are stained. Breakfast was below basic, had to rely on fruits and bread as they take forever to serve your egg order, choices are very limited as well. Service was horrible. With only one lift, it can get tricky when you’re checking out with a large group. Also, they close the gate quite early in the evening and the guard goes off to sleep. We went out to check out the Halloween festivities nearby and informed the reception that we’re coming back shortly. Half an hour later, came back to a locked gate and had to scream for good 15-20 minutes before they opened the gate. Will never book this place for anyone I...

We had a great stay - was slightly confusing when we arrived as they have just transitioned to a new building which is a couple of units away and not clearly marked. We were escorted over by a member of staff at the old hotel. We were immediately made welcome and given some drinks (gratis) after our long journey. The building and rooms in the new building (we stayed before and after our trek) were spotless, very large, and comfortable. The staff were excellent and looked after us the entire time. They opened the rooftop bar for us and we had some drinks and appreciated the excellent night time view over the city. The lady on reception also sorted out a taxi for us on our departure day using an Uber type of service which runs in KTM. Breakfast was good and was cooked to order from a menu. Just what we needed after 2 weeks on the hill. Next time we come we will definitely stay here again. Many thanks...

I booked a suite room and was not like photos. I'm sure it was great in the 70's, but decor inside room is tired and dated. |Had to ask for toilet paper and batteries in air conditioning remote didn't work and looked like they had been in there 10yrs. Had cups and teabags, but no kettle. Could not be bothered to have to keep asking for items that should have been in the room. |The shower nozzle pointed straight out and could not be adjusted to point down, so had to shower holding the nozzle. |Toilet was severely stained. |Clearly no attention paid to rooms, everything is put towards making reception look amazing to cover up the poor room state.|Certainly not what I would expect for the price.|Checked out after less than 24hrs and still had to pay for two extra days. |My advice - stay somewhere else.
