Title: Unpleasant Experience at Hotel Nana Pokhara - Booked via Booking.com
I had a very disappointing experience at Hotel Nana Pokhara during my stay from December 31, 2024, to January 1, 2025. I had booked a room for 4 people through Booking.com, but when we arrived at the hotel to check-in, the receptionist (Radhika) refused to allow us to check-in, stating that our booking had been canceled. However, I never received any email or SMS notification about this cancellation.
When I asked how the cancellation was done, she claimed that she called us from a "dot phone," but international calls never come through on such phones. This left us confused and frustrated. Despite my efforts to calmly explain the situation, she was rude and uncooperative, and the conversation escalated.
I even offered to pay for half of the new room in another hotel, as they had found a room for us in a different place at INR 3500, which was well outside our budget, considering our original room cost INR 1300. Unfortunately, Radhika refused to cooperate, and the situation became unpleasant.
At this point, I had no choice but to contact the Nepal police. I managed to get the tourist police involved, and I must commend the lady officer who came to help us. She was very understanding and sweet, taking the time to speak with Radhika, understand the entire situation, and explain things to her. After approximately 30 minutes of calm discussion, Radhika finally agreed to resolve the issue.
Although the situation was eventually addressed thanks to the police's intervention, this experience was extremely stressful, and I would not recommend Hotel Nana Pokhara due to the lack of professionalism and hospitality from the staff. The entire situation could have been avoided with better communication and customer service. I hope the hotel improves its service and handles bookings more responsibly...
Read moreI would give it how honestly negative stars if I could! I would never even let my pet stay in this nasty over priced tray dump they call a hotel! We booked online through bookings.com as it is so highly rated, honestly beyond disappointment ended up leaving! Walked to entrance and even tho we paid for 2 rooms she told us we could only have one single bed for three people to share even tho we showed her that we booked 2 rooms and that they were paid for. The lady was so rude and not impressed she could not speak a word of English! We paid for a AC room with TV and bath tub we were given a room with no AC as the hotel does not offer any AC unless you want a big room that is $1800NPR more per night. Room smelled of smoke and was so dirty the bathroom has black mild all through sealing and door. The doors were banged up and not secure at all. All broken, the bathroom window was broken as well, Capet covered in stakes and black mild as well. So much dirt on the windows and everywhere you would get dirty. On top of the dressed had other peoples trash. Toilet disgusting! Not to mention no elevator. When brought to the attention of the redemption she told us that the room was fine. We paid for breakfast and was told that they no longer offer breakfast as well. The room was so nasty we could not stay there so found different place to stay. They refused to give us our money back $9,900NPR! Don’t stay here worst place ever...
