I am truly perplexed, as to why this hotel as got negative reviews. Be realistic, you get what you pay for. They charge very reasonable prices and everything is as could be expected. The rooms are decent, facilities are modern and functional. It's not like you're going to be there all day. If you want a decent hotel, on Damrak, literally 2 minutes from Centraal Station, where you lie your stoned and happy, English head at the end of an amazing night/early morning in Amsterdam, then this is your place. I've stayed at this hotel twice now, staff are friendly and breakfast in the morning is also decent. The only thing is that you can't really bring visitors, however, there is always a way, if you know how. You can't smoke in the rooms (again, unless one does so considerately hehe), but there are outdoor areas, in the hotel. On my first night (2nd time I stayed) I met some very friendly and outgoing Germans. One of them was kind enough to pass me my first spliff of the trip, seconds after saying Hello. What does this have to do with the Hotel? Awesome people stay there and I made many new friends and had a great time. I will always stay at The Neutraal when I am in Amsterdam. Worth checking out!!! Ohhhhh.... and did I mention that McDonalds is right next to the hotel? It closes at around 02:45, but it's a life saver, when you're on a serious munch. FEBO is next to McDonalds as a proud, native competitor, if you're curious. And furthermore, Coffee Shop 'Prix D'Ami' is seconds away, around the corner and PastaBar serve quality English Breakfast. Until I stay there again, you'll find my review, quite accurate. Message me in private if you need more details or greater clarity. Take care and enjoy...
Read moreIn the heart of the city this hotel is located a couple minutes from grand Central Station and is walking distance from all the local cafes, bars, restaurants and shopping streets, great night life, boat tours along the canal, on arrival we met with Saffa who was very warm and welcoming. She made sure we were looked after and was very accommodating. The room although small was clean, nice comfy bed and was quiet which I didn't expect because of where the hotel was located, our room was towards the back and had a balcony at the end of the hall for smoking. The bathroom which was across the hall was one big walk in shower room and was lovely and hot especially after a day of walking around the city. To Saffa and Henny who were amazing, funny and very welcoming, me and my partner will definitely stay again next time we visit this beautiful city....
