After quite a long walk from the centraal station (only a short tram journey) we found ourselves at a beautifully presented building with 'Hotel Titus' clearly marked on the side, checking in was incredibly simple in a nice looking room, not dingy, dark and crampt as some previous Amsterdam hotels have been. Our room was on the 4th floor which made us glad to be traveling light due to the amount of steps however, floors 1 and 2 did not seem too tricky or too much effort to reach.
The room was nice and spacious, plenty of room for the three of us to unpack and have our own areas to keep our belongings, the bathroom was a large and bright area with plenty of amenities such as: a shower, towel rack, wash basin and toilet as well as extractor fans and a skylight letting in most of the rooms light.
Overall I have enjoyed our stay here, the outside noise at night wasn't too excessive and the other guests although it was busy seemed quiet and friendly in the most part. The view from the room was fantastic and it was close to lots of landmarks and points of interest like the museum quarter, dam square (10 mins walk) coffee shops, food and clothes shopping.
I would seriously suggest this hotel as a brilliantly situated, budget hotel. My only reservation being that I am British and this, would love for the room to be kitted out with tea making facilities but this really is no biggy. 8/10

Read moreI'm not complaining because I've did some review of this hotel before booking it. But since it cost me around 2000 bucks for 5 nights, I'll share some of my experience with this hotel I had recently so that you can decide for yourself.
Yes, the stairs are very steep. I strongly think this hotel is not suitable for elderly people who has mobility difficulties. Unless you inform in advance to the hotel (with elders) so they can place you in rooms with easier access. No lifts. Photo attached.
There are also rooms in basement level as well. The room which they assigned me to is at Room 1 (at basement). It has window, of course, but not a very good one. :( Photo attached.
C'mon, dude. I didn't pay few thousand for a leaking room. You gotta be kidding me. Yes, this happened, fortunately, this happened during my last night in hotel. Photo attached.
My door was not locked after they clean my room. 😐 Although I got no evidence of this incident, I didnt raised this issue to the desk because I thought the cleaning lady forgot to do so. I found out about this when I was back to hotel from outing in afternoon. (Gotta be careful next time, Hotel Titus)
On the positive side of this hotel, yes, this hotel is strategically located close to the heart of Amsterdam with close public transport and restaurants. The hotel staffs are hospitable and...

Titus is in a safe part of Amsterdam. But the price for a 2 twin bed room was stupidly expensive compared to similar hotels and private hostel rooms. There wasn’t even room to put our bags anywhere, so the two bags we had took up all the floor space. It had the second smallest bathroom I have ever used.
It was actually a challenge to sit down on the toilet without bumping my head on the sink or door handle.
I will say it was nicer than most comparable private hostel dorms for sure, not a bad view out the window. The other big problem was the staircases were VERY steep and I don’t think there is an elevator. I almost fell down the stairs more than once because of how small and steep they were... and I’m generally not very clumsy.
2 of the staff members were very nice. The other 1 was very rude.
On the second day, they took all our towels and left us with only 2 shower towels... it was very odd.
Overall, the only reason I would stay here again is if everything else was booked up, and they had a reasonable price that wasn’t €90 per person per night.
If you’re looking for hostels, go to ClinkNOORD on the north side of town and get a smaller room. That place was much better and my favorite...
