Marcel's Creative Exchange — Hotel in Amsterdam

So we are a big family (5 of us) and we wanted to spend 4 wonderful days in Amsterdam. We thought this place was going to be great but it turned to be the opposite. ||Even though is well located and the decoration is nice, it would have been better to sleep in a bus station. Literally.|Dangerous access to the apartment due to excessively sloping stairs and very narrowed steps. Impossible access with big suitcases or people with disability. ||Not only the place is very noisy itself but also during the weekend we had noises constantly coming from the construction in the same building (from 7 am!!!!!!!!) and of course MARCEL DIND'T EVEN LET US KNOW ABOUT THAT!! We also had very noisy neighbors who celebrated parties in their rooms. ||But everything went even worse when Marcel came to our rooms the day that we were leaving. We hadn't met him yet as he supposedly was in Los Angeles when we arrived. He came in our rooms without asking screaming and shouting at us saying that we had to leave in that moment (it was 10:50 and we were told to leave at 11:00am). We had finished with packing, we were just checking the room. But he went crazy telling us that the person in charge to clean forgot about it and the guests that were hosting there saw everything aswell. He blamed us for everything without a reason. A TOTAL LACK OF RESPECT.|The funny thing is that the day we arrived (at 16:30 pm) our rooms weren't even ready. ||Finally after all of this, he offered us to leave our luggage in the house in one private room as we weren't leaving Amsterdam before 20:00 pm. Surprisingly when we went back to pick everything up it was all in the middle of the corridor and of course Marcel wasn't there, NOT EVEN TO APOLOGIZE FOR HIS RUDE AND UNRESPECTFUL MANNERS.||I highly recommend staying somewhere else but definitely NOT Marcel's...

After reading previous reviews I expected marcel to be a lovely owner. On our first day he was. On the second we used the phone in the communal kitchen to contact the airport about a missing bag, an issue he knew we had. Now normally a person who is not okay with this would say that this bothers them, we would apologise and never do so again. But no. Marcel proceeded to verbally abuse us, call us names, yell at us, humiliate us, leave us all in tears, threaten to look through our things, threaten to call the police, and carry on like a child. Repeadly coming to our room unannounced to continue the tirade. We attempted to apologise, offer money (even though the call was free) and discuss it but he refused to let us talk, constantly talking over us and continuing the abuse. This left us no choice but to leave immediately feeling so incredibly uncomfortable. I would never recommend this place to anyone. The owner is a complete narcissist who doesn’t know basic human treatment. When the bag arrived he even tried to refuse it from the delivery driver. ||He also refused to refund us the remaining 3 nights.||The room itself has zero privacy and poor WiFi. You have to walk through the kitchen to get to our room, with marcel cooking and making noise just outside our door.
