There are three different offerings at the Top...the Top Restaurant, the Top Bar and the Top Terrace. We had a confirmed booking for 8 people at 6.45pm on a Saturday night for The Top Terrace. The ride in the lift was great fun but from there on, I am afraid it went downhill.
Firstly, they had no record of our booking, although to be fair, they still managed to make it work by putting a few tables together.
The service was friendly and welcoming but they were understaffed, so drinks and food took quite some to order and receive. They did tell us this upfront but as the terrace had started to thin out, we thought it might improve. But it didn't.
The terrace is a relaxed place to eat and drink. The bar and restaurant looked much more upmarket. The terrace suited us as we had 3 young kids and just wanted a quick bite.
However, the menu was rather limited (oysters, mussels & chips, steak and other, mainly small bites). We ordered two charcuterie boards which we ordered before the rest of our party arrived. The boards arrived very late and without bread). We then wanted to order mussels only to find out they had sold out (it was 7.20pm).
So, in the end we left without food and went to eat elsewhere.
Great views, but wouldn't recommend. Staff did their best with what they had but it just felt unstaffed and under resourced (lack of food and options). There was also no kids menu (which wouldn't have changed my rating but...

As a guest of the hotel, I was surprised to find out that I couldn’t take my cocktail to my room — I was told I had to drink it at the bar. Fine. But then things got worse.
The bartender (a young woman) made me a cocktail that tasted like pure syrup, barely any alcohol. When I came back to explain, instead of fixing it, she added more lime syrup, making it even worse.
I politely asked her colleague if I could order something else — like a whiskey sour — and he laughed and told me it’s just as sweet as what I had before. I told him what I had was just syrup, and left it at the bar. I find it extremely rude to laugh at a guest’s feedback.
Later, when I stood up and considered ordering another drink, both bartenders looked at each other and smirked, almost as if deciding who “has to” serve me.
Honestly, I’m shocked there’s no visible management on site. This kind of staff behavior shows a serious lack of professionalism.
Also — cocktails are served in tiny glasses, barely 1/4 full...
