We called to let them know we were running late for check in, they said everything was fine. When we got there we looked for the place over an hour, and nobody knew about the place. When the police finally helped us the name was completely different on the sign. The front desk is outdoors and we have to wait another hour in the cold because they didnt have our reservation or the rooms we requested available and it was already 1:30 am. Which indicates a lack of communication between the owner and the staff. The rooms were cold, no hot water in our friends room and no water at all in our room they want to charge you extra for a heater. WIFI doesnt work at all i had to use my roaming to call expedia and complain. They promised to give us the right rooms the next day and when we came back from our tour nothing was resolved. By the owner's mother own words he is overbooking and the bar that is in the same hostal consumes all the water. Our complaints were not heard or resolve the owner never came to talk to us he was on the phone very rude and they made any excuse not to resolve our issues. We had to pack at 9pm to go somewhere else thanks to expedia because they didnt even answer the phone on expedia to do the cancelation. They treated us like we were crazy. I do not recommend this place at all. When we spoke to others in the hostal they told us they went through the...
Read moreWell located, beautiful on the outside and with some rooms with the best views of Cusco (just a bit lower than Limbus bar) this hostel might prove disapointing. We spent 4 days there before going to Machu Pichu and planned to come back there after the treck for another 4 days. The first 4 were good, room was nice and we could shower but only with a very thin trail of water, very, very thin. We asked the owner to fix the water or change us to another room when we came back and she told us that she was going to reserve one of the new rooms which was supposed to be nicer. The owner and staff are supper nice and friendly but they rarely solve anything. When we came back, late at night, we were taken to the new room wich was unfinished and had not just the thin line of water, had a thin line of cold water only. Our previous room was taken and we were offered another one which was not clean (toilet paper on the floor, dust everywhere and hair on the bed and sheets) so we didnt stay and had to wander at 2 am looking for another place with a spare room. If you can contact them before booking and making sure you will be given a clean room with warm water I see no problem but if you wanna book and forget trouble maybe this one just isnt the...
Read moreWe had an interesting stay at this hostel, it's hard to rate as some aspects were great (the friendliness and helpfulness of the señora at the desk) and others not so great (quality of rooms)..||||+ wifi works reasonably well throughout hostel and rooms||||- Power points are pretty dodgy and faulty, need to jiggle charger to find the sweet spot to charge||||+ cute mummy cat and baby live in the communal outdoor area||||- breakfast is less than average, cheap bread, jam, instant coffee, orange fizzy drink||||+ warm showers and warm beds||||- horrible water pressure and no paper in the one shared bathroom the entire time we were there||||+ lovely Spanish speaking señora more than happy to help, unfortunately for some only in Spanish..||||- no curtains in the rooms, so depending where your room is you may be disturbed by bright light.. ||||+ they sell coca tea, and are happy to boil water for you||||- despite what their website states, there is no kitchen. So don't expect to be able to cook your own food. ||||+ Though they do have a great restaurant and bar upstairs (not great for budget travellers though)||||So depending on what you are looking for this may or may not be for you.. Read the other...
