This is a really nice Hostel in a good location. The staff are really friendly they did not speak English (and no we didnt speak Spanish) but they went out of their way to help were possible using Google translate, they were all so friendly & helpful. ||||We arrived initially after night bus which was really early in the morning and they still offered us breakfast with fruits and eggs at 7ish- we waited in the lobby area, and the porter came out with a blanket for me to wrap around me, which was incredibly sweet.||They provided a great breakfast for the price daily: hot drinks & hot milk, eggs, cheese, fruit,, bread etc. The hostel itself is dated but the rooms are clean and they provided clean sheets and towels daily- the showers were also hot.||||There is a shared kitchen facility there, it is very basic and we didn't use it as it wasn't great.- However there are some really good gems beside this hostel so we were happy enough "Beers & Burgers" is a must the burgers here are honestly the best I've ever had even the vegetarian one- "Green Falafel" is also a great shout for lunch- If your looking for something more upmarket for an evening meal; try "Organika" everything here is homegrown food is great|||| We needed a taxi to take us to the airport on two occasions they organised this and also made a pack breakfast when we departed for one of our tours. The staff really were great. Great we could leave our bags safely there while away while going to the amazon and machu picchu.||||I couldn't recommend this hostel highly enough, we only booked it for 3 days originally as a trial as we were going to the Amazon but decided to come back here before departing for our machu Picch Hike. It's basic, but clean, the breakfast is great the showers are hot and the staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly (even with the...
Read moreThis was a tricky one to rate because the hostel itself is comfortable and quiet. A basic free breakfast is provided. The staff are absolutely lovely and accommodating.
What I wouldn't recommend is booking your tours here. We booked the Machu Picchu by car and honestly it was a terrible service. 6 hours twisting and turning in a sweltering hot van with broken air conditioning caused people to vomit. "Lunch" was sat out and crawling with flies... Completely inedible. The accommodation was full of holes in the wall, noise, mould. The whole time we were confused about what to do and where to go and no one told us crucial information about the tour (like which circuit our guide wanted us to book or what time to pick). The "breakfast" was a complete joke - a bread roll and some cold coffee. We ate elsewhere and took the train home.
The manager of the hostel was understanding and provided some compensation. I would still recommend to book through a reputable company with good...
Read morePuma Kiru is one of five hostels I visited during my stay in Cusco. Overall, you can’t go wrong in Cusco. Puma Kiru is easy to find and conveniently located blocks above old town. The hospitality exceeds standards and here’s why: not only did our host meet us at the door the exact moment we arrived (as per my booking) but he politely walked us around and asked if we needed anything. The next morning we enjoyed breakfast while he explained how to get to certain attractions without guides. His English was just fine.
I would recommend this hostel to anyone. Great atmosphere. Comfy...
