QENTE WINGS GUEST HOUSE — Hotel in Ollantaytambo

I was misled by enormous amounts of fake positive reviews (fake ) on Booking as well on other websites .The positive reviews on booking are scam I book and payed for this place for 4 nights IN cash, right on the time check in - which was a disaster. They do not provide the receipts for the room cash payment. Yet on the third night they were telling me that it is time to check out of the room (??!! ) , yet I payed for 4 nights , so they turned hot water off in my room . They are scammers! I wanted to rest and enjoy my stay . I requested quite room with outside windows. The guy working in the reception was harassing me and bullying me entire stay . When checking in, I was informed that upstairs terrace I can find access 24h to the hot water kettle and it is open 24h. Than the next day the same guy , he told me I can't use the upstairs facility later in the day. I receive room right on the front of the staircase, which early in the morning since 6:30 AM other guest was generating terrible loud noises: out of control kids running on the staircase and hallway, loud screaming of people outside on the hallway. I brought this to the attention to the guy on the reception, but he responded to me rudely “ that it is normal “ You can hear all with thin glass in the window. Regular conversation in the next guest room you can hear - all . The information of the facility is misleading: there is NO A/C, no ventilation, no TV, the hot water kettle in the room, most of the room has no place to put your suitcase or hang your coat. The access to the facility is difficult as you must take a long walk from the square and drag your suitcase on the cobblestone street .Very primitive conditions. The pictures of the facility in booking are not resembling current conditions in the room and in the hotel. There is lack of the hot water, either way in the shower and in the sink at all. The sink is so small that is not functional. From the upper terrace, even if there is beautiful view - from 6:00 AM the facility stuff is generating disturbance- noise from the kitchen and the vibration and rattling of the washing machine - you can hear it in the rooms , so you can’t rest in the room in AM . All that you can hear in the rooms. 😢 From the guest rooms you can hear - all in your room. In the bathroom there was ants . I would never stay that - it was a horrible- horror to stay there —— Rude, bullying , harassing and disrespectful staff, lack of hot water in the shower, noisy rooms, difficult access to the facility via long walk cobblestone street (no car access at all) Misleading description and misleading pictures of the facility in booking profile. Sewage smell leaking to the bathroom and the room . Disturbing light from the hallway from the window above the entrance door to the room . Righ behind the hotel there is a night club / a pub which generates unbearable loud music pounding noise till very late at night. Very weak unstable internet, it was even off due to lack of payment for the...

Not sure what all the negative reviews are about.

I got freaked out and almost cancelled as booking.com has amazing reviews that I was worried were fake.

They are not fake.

The place is one of the best stays we had.

It’s true there is a pub nearby but I didn’t find it noisy except for when they closed for a brief moment.

There was no tv in the room (but who cares)

The staff don’t speak English so maybe this comes off as unfriendly

The rooms did come with soap and towels

The wifi worked well

They accepted card and gave a receipt..

The breakfast was simple and came a bit later than communicated (ready by 7.30 instead 7) but that’s fine because THE ROOFTOP

Great place to stay in Ollantaytambo, 1 minute walk to the plaza, in a quiet area. Family that runs the place are very accommodating. It's a very new hotel, so everything is very clean, beds are comfortable and the shower was one of the best I have had in Peru. Breakfast was simple but adequate and good value for 10 sols.
